Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Software Test Engineer to join our team.
This is a full-time remote role based in VA, MD, DC or NC with occasional travel to DC required. The Software Test Engineer will be responsible for ensuring a software product (system or application) meets the established standards of quality including reliability, usability and performance required for release.
Primary Responsibilities
- Responsible for designing and implementing test plans to improve the usability of products.
- The QA tester works with the development team to debug code, correct errors, and troubleshoot any issues with software code.
- Design test plans, scenarios, scripts, or procedures.
- Document software defects, using a bug tracking system, and report defects to software developers.
- Identify, analyze, and document problems with program function, output, online screen, or content.
- Develop testing programs that address areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, error or bug retests, or usability.
- Incorporate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline.
- Participate in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems.
- Document test procedures to ensure replicability and compliance with standards.
- Plan test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope or delivery dates.
- Monitor bug resolution efforts and track success.
Qualifications
- Essential: either a public trust or secret clearance
- Essential: minimum 3 years experience
- AWS Certified Machine Learning Certification is desirable.
- Strong Software Test Engineering skills.
- Proven Experience with AWS.
- Proven Experience working in secure or regulated environments (e.g., government or defense) is desirable.
- Strong problem-solving skills, ability to work both independently and in cross-functional teams, and clear written and verbal communication.
- Bachelor's degree in IT from an accredited institution is desirable.
- Ability and willingness to travel to DC for occasional work on-site to support projects for government and high-security clients as needed.
