Speech Language Pathologist Jobs in Baltimore: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a speech language pathologist job in Baltimore?
Baltimore's strongest hiring comes from its dense concentration of academic medical centers, pediatric hospitals, and public school programs in neighborhoods from Remington to Waverly. Candidates with experience in dysphagia, augmentative and alternative communication, or pediatric language disorders are particularly competitive here. Targeting large health systems and Baltimore City Public Schools directly, rather than waiting for openings to aggregate, tends to move faster in this market.
Which companies hire speech language pathologists in Baltimore?
Employers hiring speech language pathologists in Baltimore right now include The Therapy Spot, Johns Hopkins Health System, and University of Maryland Medical System, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Baltimore's employer mix skews toward large academic health systems, children's rehabilitation providers, and urban public school networks, reflecting the city's deep infrastructure in both medical care and K-12 education.
Are there remote speech language pathologist jobs in Baltimore?
Yes, though with limits, since most speech language pathologist roles involve direct patient or student contact that requires an in-person setting. About 50% of speech language pathologist openings tied to Baltimore are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and the roles that go remote most often are teletherapy positions serving school-age clients or adults in home health settings.
How can I get a speech language pathologist job in Baltimore with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Baltimore is a clinical fellowship or graduate practicum placement through one of the city's academic medical centers or university-affiliated school programs. Baltimore City Public Schools and outpatient pediatric clinics regularly bring on clinical fellows after degree completion. Bilingual candidates, particularly those with Spanish or other languages common in Baltimore's communities, have a meaningful edge for school-based and community health roles.
Which industries hire the most speech language pathologists in Baltimore?
Most speech language pathologist openings in Baltimore sit in Healthcare & Medical Services, Education, and Science & Research, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Baltimore's role as a regional hub for academic medicine and its large urban school system drive consistent demand across both healthcare and education sectors year-round.
