- Develop clear recommendations for strategic initiatives by assessing alternatives, building business cases, and identifying actions required to implement proposed solutions.
- Synthesize insights and present findings to senior leadership in a clear, structured, and compelling manner.
- Drive operational and revenue optimization initiatives, working with cross-functional teams to improve business models, processes, and service delivery.
- Enable alignment on strategic priorities across key business functions (e.g., vertical teams, marketing, product, engineering, finance, payment operations).
- Lead and support elements of the annual and quarterly planning processes, ensuring teams are aligned on goals, KPIs, and execution plans.
- Build financial impact assessments that capture expected benefits (e.g., revenue growth, margin expansion, cost efficiencies) and required investments.
- Maintain a strong understanding of industry trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging opportunities in the global payments and FinTech ecosystem.
- Partner cross-functionally to drive projects from analysis through execution, ensuring stakeholders are aligned and progress is tracked.

- MBA preferred but not required.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and structured-thinking skills; ability to distill complexity into actionable insights.
- Demonstrated ability to operate in ambiguity, prioritize effectively, and execute with a hands-on, action-oriented mindset.

Strategy Business Operations Jobs in Boston: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a strategy business operations job in Boston?
Focus on Boston's three dominant hiring sectors: life sciences and biotech, financial services, and enterprise technology. Firms in the Seaport and Back Bay corridors hire most actively at the manager and senior associate level, while Kendall Square attracts candidates with analytical or product-adjacent experience. An MBA from a Boston-area program, strong financial modeling skills, and familiarity with healthcare or tech go-to-market strategy give candidates a measurable edge in this market.
Which companies hire strategy business operationss in Boston?
Boston strategy business operations roles are posted by PwC, Flywire, and Deloitte and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Boston's mix of large financial institutions, regional healthcare systems, and high-growth biotech firms means hiring comes from both established enterprises and well-funded startups.
Are there remote strategy business operations jobs in Boston?
Yes, though availability depends heavily on the role. Strategy business operations work is moderately remote-friendly for analytical and planning-heavy positions, but less so for roles requiring frequent stakeholder meetings or cross-functional coordination. About 38% of strategy business operations openings tied to Boston are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, with hybrid arrangements most common among technology and financial services employers in the Seaport and Back Bay.
How can I get a strategy business operations job in Boston with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Boston is through an analyst or associate rotational program at one of the city's large financial services firms, healthcare systems, or life sciences companies. Many Boston employers use these programs to develop early-career talent before placing them in dedicated strategy or operations functions. Lateral moves from consulting, financial analysis, or project coordination roles also work well locally, particularly for candidates who can show quantitative output and cross-team collaboration.
Which industries hire the most strategy business operationss in Boston?
Most strategy business operations openings in Boston sit in Technology & Software, Investment & Asset Management, and Consulting & Professional Services, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Boston's dense concentration of teaching hospitals, asset managers, and venture-backed life sciences firms creates sustained demand for professionals who can bridge operational execution with long-range planning.
