Structural Project Engineer Jobs in Dallas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a structural project engineer job in Dallas?
Focus your search on Dallas's active commercial construction and civil infrastructure sectors, where demand for structural project engineers is strongest. Firms working on high-rise development in Uptown, highway and transit projects along the I-635 and DART corridors, and large mixed-use projects in Frisco and Plano hire consistently. Candidates who bring experience in steel or concrete design for mid- to large-scale commercial projects and hold a PE license have a clear edge in this market.
Which companies hire structural project engineers in Dallas?
Companies currently hiring structural project engineers in Dallas include Garver, Burns & McDonnell, and Digital Building Components, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Dallas draws a mix of national engineering consultancies, regional MEP and civil firms, and large general contractors managing major commercial and public infrastructure work throughout the metroplex.
Are there remote structural project engineer jobs in Dallas?
Yes, but only for select portions of the role, since structural engineering is largely site-dependent and hands-on. About 16% of structural project engineer openings tied to Dallas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting that design review, modeling, and client coordination tasks can shift off-site. Hybrid arrangements are most common at larger consultancies handling multiple concurrent projects across the DFW area.
How can I get a structural project engineer job in Dallas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Dallas is through an EIT role at a mid-size structural or civil consulting firm, where junior engineers work directly on commercial and infrastructure projects under a licensed PE. Dallas firms supporting DART expansion, TxDOT contracts, and the ongoing Uptown and Frisco development pipeline regularly bring on entry-level engineers. A degree in civil or structural engineering, strong CAD or ETABS skills, and any project exposure through internships will open doors with local consultancies.
Which industries hire the most structural project engineers in Dallas?
Dallas structural project engineer roles concentrate in Consulting & Professional Services, Construction & Real Estate, and Manufacturing, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Dallas's sustained commercial real estate growth, active TxDOT and DART infrastructure programs, and the expanding corporate campus market in the northern suburbs all drive steady structural engineering demand across those sectors.
