ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Senior New Product Development (NPD) Planner – MMIC Satcom
This role is responsible for enabling predictable and executable New Product Development (NPD) within the MMIC business by aligning early engineering demand with material readiness, lead‑time reality, and system accuracy. The role partners closely with engineering, supply chain, operations, and program management to ensure NPD commitments are based on realistic build feasibility and early visibility of material and schedule risks.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Partners with design and test engineering teams at the earliest stages of development to translate technical intent into executable material requirements for prototype, engineering, qualification, and customer sample builds.
- Estimates and manages material demand across early‑stage engineering activities, including wafers, masks, substrates, and other long‑lead or high‑risk items, ensuring risks are identified and tracked early.
- Develops material and build strategies that account for yield, process maturity, and supply chain risks, ensuring alignment between engineering priorities and operational feasibility.
- Supports engineering build readiness by ensuring BOM completeness, routing definition, and data accuracy in advance of build initiation.
- Coordinates with supply chain and operations to validate build feasibility, confirm lead‑time expectations, and initiate timely procurement of NPD materials.
- Provides lead‑time, procurement, and material readiness inputs into NPD schedules, supporting Program Managers while not owning end‑to‑end schedule management.
- Creates, maintains, and manages accurate Bills of Material (BOMs), routing structures, and associated configuration data across PLM and ERP systems (e.g., Oracle Agile, SAP).
- Ensures clean and timely data flow between PLM and ERP systems and supports production release readiness through strong configuration control.
- Monitors engineering‑controlled and pre‑production orders, including NRE‑related sales orders, identifying constraints linked to unreleased BOMs, supply gaps, or schedule dependencies.
- Performs analysis on engineering backlog, WIP status, long‑term material demand (e.g., wafer starts), and short‑term execution needs (e.g., test hardware), driving transparency and early risk visibility.
- Collaborates with cross‑functional stakeholders globally (Engineering, Operations, Program Management, Supply Chain) to communicate complex material or schedule risks clearly and concisely.
- Provides visibility into concurrent engineering build requests, competing priorities, and site‑level capacity constraints to help balance engineering workloads across multiple regions.
- Represents NPD Planning in project or team meetings and communicates comfortably across all levels of the organization while working independently.
- Other duties as assigned.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5–7 years of relevant planning experience in NPD, operations, supply chain, or program support roles within the semiconductor industry; experience in RF, MMIC, or advanced analog technologies preferred. Minimum 3–5 years in a dedicated planning role.
- Bachelor’s degree required; engineering, supply chain, business, or related field preferred.
- Experience with SAP (ERP) and PLM systems such as Oracle Agile or PTC Windchill.
- Advanced Excel skills with strong analytical capability, including scenario‑based planning and complex data analysis.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical details into clear operational implications.
- Demonstrated ability to work in ambiguous, fast‑paced environments and manage multiple concurrent NPD priorities.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong judgment, structured problem‑solving ability, and a proactive mindset toward risk identification.
- Flexibility to work effectively across global time zones and collaborate with teams in the US, Europe, and Asia.
- Due to ITAR regulations, only candidates who are U.S. Persons (U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, lawful permanent residents, or individuals granted asylum or refugee status) will be considered for this position.
COMPENSATION
- The Salary Range for this position is $81,000 - $115,000. Actual salary offered to candidates will depend on several factors, including but not limited to, work location, relevant candidates’ experience, education, and specific knowledge, skills, and abilities.
