Job Description:

Onondaga Community College in Syracuse, NY, is accepting applications for an adjunct instructor in our Business Administration program to teach classes in Supply Chain Management 150, 210, and 215:

SCM-150 Introduction to Supply Chain Management (Fall/Spring offering): Supply Chain Management is designed to introduce students to the planning and organizing activities involved in the upstream and downstream elements of a sourcing and delivery system. Specific topics include procurement, capacity planning, production operations, distribution, delivery, quality, and customer service. The course emphasizes the communication, collaboration, and integration of activities among all components of a supply chain.

SCM-210 Introduction to Warehouse Management (Fall/Spring offering): Students in this course will gain an oversight into warehousing operations, including receiving, storing, tracking, workload planning, shipping of materials, staffing, and training/development of employees. Students will learn the complexities of both inbound and outbound logistics within a supply chain and learn the critical role that software systems play in the movement of materials. Prerequisite: SCM 150. These courses are taught on campus face-to-face.

SCM-215 Logistics (Fall & Spring offering): Logistics is the capstone course in the Supply Chain Management Program, and it builds upon the foundational concepts introduced in SCM 150 (Supply Chain Management) and SCM 210 (Intro to Warehouse Management). This course focuses on the strategic and operational aspects of logistics, including transportation systems, inventory management, warehousing, and distribution networks. Students will apply their knowledge from prior Supply Chain Management courses to analyze and solve real-world logistical challenges through case studies, simulations, and a comprehensive logistics research project. Emphasis is placed on integrating logistics processes within the broader supply chain to enhance efficiency, customer satisfaction, and sustainability. Prerequisite(s): SCM 150 and SCM 210.

These sections are taught on main campus with face-to-face instruction.

Adjunct Instructors are responsible for all aspects of preparation, instruction, and classroom management. These include but are not limited to: learning management system (LMS) integration and maintenance, instruction and content delivery, preparing and grading assignments and exams, timely responses to student inquiries, and assessing student performance relative to standardized learning objectives.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• MBA or MS in Supply Chain Management from a regionally accredited college, university or foreign equivalency.
• 5 years of experience in the Supply Chain Management Industry

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with D2L Brightspace or comparable LMS.
• Prior college-level teaching experience in Supply Chain Management.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish. English and another language will be considered.

Additional Information:

Adjunct rate of pay for the 26/27 academic year is $1,527/credit hour. Classes will be assigned on an as needed basis dependent upon enrollment.

Adjuncts are eligible to participate in the NYS Teacher's Retirement System.

Courses can be scheduled in the evening or during the day. Preferred courses scheduled during the day. However, courses can be scheduled in the evening.
