Duration: 6+ months (possible extension)
Type: Contract / W2 only
We’re looking for experienced IT Analysts to support a public-sector client in Milpitas, CA. This is a senior, journey-level role covering application servers, systems/database administration, security, networking, and service desk support.
What you’ll do
- Plan, design, customize, update, and maintain assigned applications and infrastructure components, including data processing and application systems.
- Work directly with end users to troubleshoot and resolve system issues; implement improvements and upgrades.
- Support areas such as software development, database administration, security administration, network/server administration, service desk, and GIS as needed.
- Assist with analyzing growth needs for application server resources and participate in hardware/software acquisitions, installation, and maintenance.
- Provide systems and database administration, security functions, backups, and data recovery processes.
- Ensure service requests are resolved within approved performance measures and SLAs.
- Participate in project teams for new system implementations and upgrades.
Must-have qualifications
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, or closely related field + 4 years of progressively responsible experience in application server operations/administration; OR
- Associate’s in CS/IS Management + 6 years of relevant experience; OR
- Bachelor’s in a non-IT field + 5 years of relevant experience.
- Required: Microsoft MCSA (365 or Azure) or equivalent Microsoft role-based certification (Developer, Administrator, Solutions Architect, Data Scientist, DevOps Engineer, Security Engineer, or Data Engineer).
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Microsoft 365 Administration, SQL Server/SSRS, and PowerShell/HTML/CSS/C#/JavaScript/PHP/SQL.
- Experience with virtualization (Nutanix, Hyper-V, VMware) and cloud services (Azure or AWS).
- Intermediate LAN/WAN/Wireless troubleshooting and redundant storage/backup strategies.
- Valid California Driver’s License.
- Experience with HP, Lenovo, or Dell server hardware installation/maintenance is highly desirable.
Nice to have
- Exposure to public-sector or municipal IT environments.
- Familiarity with on-call rotation, after-hours support, and AV support for public meetings.
