We are seeking a highly skilled Security & Low Voltage Systems Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing security and low-voltage systems, including data cabling, access control systems, surveillance systems, and audio/video systems. This role requires technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality installations and service to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain security systems, surveillance cameras, access control systems, data cabling, and audio/video systems.
- Previous A/V and data cabling systems experience required.
- Working knowledge of Windows computers and basic network concepts.
- Troubleshoot and repair and replace Burglar alarm systems, access control systems and surveillance systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot IP cameras, NVRs, network-connected access control hardware, and related devices.
- Run, terminate, and test low-voltage cabling, including Cat5e, Cat6, and coaxial cable.
- Configure and program security and access control systems.
- Perform system upgrades, inspections, and repairs as needed.
- Work with project managers and clients to ensure installations meet customer needs and industry standards.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including service reports and installation documentation.
- Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in security system installation and repair.
- Knowledge of structured cabling, IP-based security systems, and AV systems.
- Familiarity with brands such as DSC, Honeywell, Qolsys, 2GIG, Mercury Access control (multiple platforms), Kantech, Exacqvision, Multiple IP camera types or similar is a plus.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Clean Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a background check.
- Certifications such as BICSI, OSHA 10/30, or manufacturer-specific training are a plus.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in commercial and residential environments.
- Must be comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and confined spaces.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
