About Us
For over 30 years, NorthPoint Tax, Wealth & Business Advisory has elevated the lives of a diverse and remarkable clientele — entrepreneurs, physicians, musicians, business owners, executives, and many more. We deliver holistic solutions across tax, wealth management, and business advisory, all under one roof.
We’re big enough to have the resources and capital to invest meaningfully in our team and our growth — and small enough that you’d be joining at what we’d call the ground level. We love what we do, we have a great team, an impressive client base, and a diversified, sustainable growth plan. The firm is growing, and we’re looking for exceptional people to grow right alongside us.
Put simply, our team is awesome. We have fun, we genuinely care about one another, and we’re all in it together. Everyone here has a real opportunity to grow personally, professionally, and financially.
The Opportunity
We’re looking for an experienced Senior CPA who is excellent across the full spectrum of tax — planning, preparation, and review — and who genuinely loves working with clients. The right person is as comfortable solving a complex tax question as they are sitting across from a client during an important moment in their life, building the kind of trust and lasting relationships that define a great firm.
This is a high-impact, client-facing role with a clear runway. For the person who makes a meaningful difference here — in our clients’ lives and in the growth of the firm — there is a genuine path to one day becoming a partner. If you’ve been looking for a place where strong work is seen, valued, and rewarded with real ownership and upside, this is it.

- Mentor and elevate team members, raising the bar on technical quality and client service across the firm.
- Collaborate with our wealth management and business advisory teams to deliver truly holistic solutions.
- Help shape the future of a growing firm — your ideas and leadership will have a real seat at the table.
What We’re Looking For
- Active CPA license.
- 10+ years of tax experience, with real depth in planning, preparation, and review.
- Outstanding communicator — someone who connects naturally with clients and builds genuine, lasting trust.
- A relationship-builder at heart, with a sincere desire to help people and be present for them.
- Strong technical command across individual and business taxation; experience with complex returns and entities a big plus.
- Collaborative, team-first work style with high integrity, professionalism, and a positive attitude.
- A growth mindset and the ambition to build something lasting — including, for the right person, partnership.
What We Offer
- Highly competitive base + bonus, with real upside for impact.
- A genuine partner track for the person who makes a big enough difference.
- Retirement Plans: 401(k) with matching, Cash Balance/Defined Benefit contributions.

- Hybrid schedule (3 days in-office) with flexibility.
- Paid time off.

Senior Level Tax Accountant Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a senior level tax accountant job?
Employers at this level look for candidates who have owned complex tax engagements from start to finish, not just supported them. Deep technical expertise in areas like corporate tax, ASC 740, or multi-state compliance carries significant weight. Demonstrating that you have reviewed junior work, managed client relationships, or led a practice area distinguishes you from mid-level candidates. A CPA license is typically expected.
Which companies hire senior level tax accountants?
Companies hiring senior level tax accountants right now include Current, Wolters Kluwer, and Ascend Partners Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level covers large public accounting firms, corporate tax departments at Fortune 500 companies, and regional advisory practices looking for experienced professionals who can lead client work independently.
Are there remote senior level tax accountant jobs?
Yes, though availability varies by employer and specialization. About 15% of senior level tax accountant openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the shift toward flexible arrangements in accounting and finance. Fully remote roles are more common in corporate tax and advisory work than in public accounting positions that require regular client presence.
What makes a tax accountant role senior level?
Senior level tax accountant roles are defined by ownership and scope. You are expected to manage entire tax processes or engagements with minimal oversight, interpret complex regulatory requirements independently, and review the work of junior staff. Technical depth in a specialty such as international tax, partnership taxation, or transfer pricing is common, and client or executive-level communication is typically part of the role.
Which industries hire the most senior level tax accountants?
Senior Level tax accountant roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Accounting & Auditing, and Chemicals & Materials, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive hiring at this level because their tax obligations are complex, high-stakes, and require professionals who can lead compliance efforts and advise on strategy rather than simply execute routine filings.
