Tax Associate Jobs in Los Angeles: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a tax associate job in Los Angeles?
Focus your search on Los Angeles's dominant hiring corridors: Downtown LA, Century City, and Woodland Hills, where large accounting firms, entertainment studios, and real estate investment firms cluster. A CPA track and experience with California-specific tax issues stand out here. Networking through the California Society of CPAs and targeting Big Four and regional mid-market firms in those districts gives candidates the strongest local edge.
Which companies hire tax associates in Los Angeles?
Los Angeles tax associate roles are posted by CohnReznick, KPMG, and PwC and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. The Los Angeles market draws a distinctive mix of Big Four offices, regional accounting firms, entertainment conglomerates, and real estate developers, all of which maintain in-house or closely affiliated tax teams.
Are there remote tax associate jobs in Los Angeles?
Yes, though availability varies by employer type, since tax associate work often involves client documents, sensitive filings, and team review cycles that many firms prefer to handle in person. About 31% of tax associate openings tied to Los Angeles are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, skewing toward research, compliance review, and federal return preparation rather than client-facing advisory roles.
How can I get a tax associate job in Los Angeles with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Los Angeles is an internship or staff associate role at a regional mid-market firm in Downtown or the San Fernando Valley, where hiring volume for junior candidates is steady year-round. Entry-level candidates who have passed at least one section of the CPA exam and have hands-on experience with tax software gain a concrete edge. Targeting smaller entertainment-adjacent accounting boutiques in Burbank or Culver City is another opening many overlook.
Which industries hire the most tax associates in Los Angeles?
Most tax associate openings in Los Angeles sit in Accounting & Auditing and Consulting & Professional Services, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Los Angeles's outsized entertainment industry, dense commercial real estate market, and expanding private equity ecosystem drive consistent demand for tax professionals with sector-specific compliance and structuring experience.
