Tax Manager Jobs in Tampa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a tax manager job in Tampa?
Target the sectors doing the most hiring: regional and national CPA firms with Tampa offices, financial services companies in the Westshore Business District, and the corporate tax departments of healthcare and real estate firms anchored downtown and in the Rocky Point area. Candidates with CPA credentials, multistate tax experience, and familiarity with ASC 740 reporting stand out in Tampa's competitive market. Networking through the Tampa Bay chapter of the Florida Institute of CPAs also opens doors.
Which companies hire tax managers in Tampa?
Companies currently hiring tax managers in Tampa include Frazier & Deeter, RSM, and ADP, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Tampa's mix of regional accounting firms, financial institutions, and corporate shared-service centers creates consistent demand for experienced tax managers at both the public and private sector levels.
Are there remote tax manager jobs in Tampa?
Yes, though remote availability is moderate since tax managers often coordinate closely with finance, legal, and executive teams on-site. About 85% of tax manager openings tied to Tampa are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, with hybrid arrangements more common than fully remote. Compliance review, tax research, and return preparation tasks are most likely to be handled remotely within Tampa-based hybrid roles.
How can I get a tax manager job in Tampa with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving up through a public accounting firm's Tampa office, where senior associates regularly advance into manager roles after four to six years. Regional firms and mid-size CPA practices in Westshore and downtown Tampa are more likely to promote from within than Big Four offices. Building experience in corporate tax compliance or provision work at a local company's in-house tax department is another strong route, especially in Tampa's active healthcare and real estate sectors.
Which industries hire the most tax managers in Tampa?
Tampa tax manager roles concentrate in Accounting & Auditing, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Tampa's position as a regional hub for financial services, a growing healthcare corridor, and a center for private equity and real estate investment drives sustained demand for tax managers who can handle the specialized compliance and planning needs of each sector.
