Philadelphia's strongest hiring comes from the Big Four and regional accounting firms headquartered or with major offices in Center City, along with financial services firms along Market Street and large healthcare systems such as Jefferson and Penn Medicine. Candidates with CPA licensure, public accounting experience, and familiarity with partnership or corporate tax returns stand out most in this market. Networking through the Greater Philadelphia chapter of state CPA societies and targeting roles posted by firms with a footprint in Center City gives the clearest path in.
Which companies hire tax senior associates in Philadelphia?

Yes, though tax senior associate roles are moderately remote-friendly given the need for client contact and document review. About 25% of tax senior associate openings tied to Philadelphia are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, with hybrid schedules being far more common than fully remote. Research, return review, and advisory work tend to be the most flexible portions of the role, while client-facing engagements and busy-season crunch periods typically require on-site presence at Center City offices.
How can I get a tax senior associate job in Philadelphia with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Philadelphia is starting as a staff tax associate at one of the regional or national public accounting firms with offices in Center City, then building toward a senior associate role after two to three busy seasons. Philadelphia firms including mid-size regional practices often hire recent accounting graduates directly into rotational programs. Internships with firms active on Philadelphia-area university campuses, along with progress toward CPA licensure, are the strongest differentiators for candidates without prior full-time experience.
