How do I get a tax senior job in Cleveland?
Focus your search on Cleveland's public accounting corridor along East Ninth Street and the CBD, the mid-market firms in Beachwood, and the in-house tax teams embedded in healthcare systems and manufacturing groups across the metro. Candidates who hold a CPA and bring experience in federal and state compliance for multi-entity clients move fastest in this market. Familiarity with Ohio commercial activity tax and local income tax structures is a genuine differentiator with regional employers.
Which companies hire tax seniors in Cleveland?

The Cleveland market blends Big Four and regional CPA firm offices with a strong bench of private companies, REITs, and financial services firms that staff tax functions internally.
Are there remote tax senior jobs in Cleveland?
Yes, though availability depends on the role type. Tax compliance and advisory work tied to Cleveland clients is increasingly offered on a hybrid schedule, while hands-on roles requiring in-person client contact or partner-level review tend to stay on-site. About 42% of tax senior openings tied to Cleveland are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, with the most flexible arrangements concentrated in federal tax compliance and multi-state planning roles at larger firms.
How can I get a tax senior job in Cleveland with little or no experience?
The most realistic path is starting as a tax associate at one of Cleveland's regional CPA firms, where promotion to senior typically follows two to three years of compliance work across corporate or individual returns. Firms in Beachwood and the CBD, as well as the in-house tax departments at Northeast Ohio manufacturers and hospital systems, regularly hire entry-level candidates. Earning your CPA and gaining exposure to multi-state returns accelerates the transition to a senior title in this market.
