We are looking for a Technical Product Manager

If you do not have EE/CE/CS background, please do not apply. This is a technical role.

The Technical Product Manager will be actively involved in all projects/products assigned. Background in Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering, or another similar field is required. This is a customer-facing role that requires great communication skills with customers.

The Technical Product Manager will also be working closely with our Marketing Director in our Irvine office to plan product strategy and engineering teams in Taiwan headquarters (including hardware, firmware, software, AI) to define product requirements, specifications, and system-level architecture. and will lead extensive complex projects at times.

The position will be based in Austin, Houston or surrounding area in Texas. Candidates need to have a reliable transportation to go to the customer's sites.

Responsibilities:

• Define the product vision, product roadmap, and product strategy
• Understanding and representing customer’s needs and product requirements
• Translate requirements to engineering specifications and deliverables
• Collaborate with Himax development team to ensure that product requirements are understood
• Coordinate product releases with marketing, sales, and engineering teams
• Support Himax team to ensure customer satisfaction goals are met
• Represent Himax in customer meetings, trade shows and other industry venues
• Perform competitive and market analysis and explore new ways to improve product strategy and roadmap

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $100,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year. Compensation is DOE.

Location: Austin, Houstin or surrounding area in Texas

Minimum Requirements：

• Bachelor's degree Electrical Engineering / Computer Engineering or related field with 5 years+ experience in semiconductor or technology product development company
• Experience in product strategy, product definition, product management and customer engagement at engineering and management level
• Team player with excellent communication and documentation skills
• Comfortable presenting ideas, products and projects to a group of executives and customers
• Experience in engaging with executive management in marketing and engineering decision makers
• Experience in engaging with customers to translate requirements into product definition
• Strong customer-facing mindset and strong communication skills
• Working with multiple teams across time zones
• Travel (25% or more) for this position is required

Preferred Requirements：

• Industry experience in sensor, computer vision, machine learning or embedded system
• Experience in both engineering and technical marketing or sales role
• Knowledge or project tracking and planning software tools
• Candidates who speak Mandarin are highly preferred
