Entry Level Technical Sales Engineer Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level technical sales engineer job?
Employers at the entry level look for candidates who can demonstrate both technical fluency and communication skills. A degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field helps, but internship experience, a portfolio of technical projects, or even a capstone that involved presenting to a non-technical audience can give you a real edge. Tailor your resume to show you understand the product and the customer.
Which companies hire entry level technical sales engineers?
Companies hiring entry level technical sales engineers right now include Thermo Fisher Scientific, TIMAC AGRO USA, and Timac Agro, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level covers established technology manufacturers, growing software companies, and industrial equipment suppliers that run structured new-grad or rotational programs to build their sales engineering bench.
Are there remote entry level technical sales engineer jobs?
Yes, though most entry level roles still include some on-site or field component for hands-on product training. About 21% of entry level technical sales engineer openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, so candidates who need flexibility have real options without limiting themselves to a single metro area.
Are these new grad technical sales engineer jobs?
Yes, these listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior technical sales engineer roles. A posting is new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, counts internships or co-op rotations toward the requirement, or accepts a strong portfolio in place of full-time work history. Look for language like "training provided" or "entry level welcome" as clear signals.
Which industries hire the most entry level technical sales engineers?
Entry Level technical sales engineer roles concentrate in Manufacturing, Consulting & Professional Services, and Construction & Real Estate, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Those sectors drive hiring at this level because they sell complex products that require a technically credible salesperson, and they routinely develop that talent from new graduates rather than competing only for experienced hires.
