INTRODUCTION
University Hospital is seeking an Orthopedic Technician to contribute to the clinical and operational services of the Trauma Follow-Up Clinic.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Orthopedic Technician contributes to the clinical and operational services of the Trauma Follow-Up Clinic by providing orthopedic support care and assisting with outpatient trauma and orthopedic procedures. Responsibilities include:
- Application and removal of casts, splints, braces, and other trauma and orthopedic devices
- Specialized wound and skin care services
- Supporting physicians and clinical staff through patient care coordination
- Patient education
- Phone triage
- Scheduling support
- Clinical documentation
This role demonstrates excellent customer service and consistently supports the mission, values, policies, and protocols of University Health.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Graduate of an accredited trade school with a diploma as an Orthopedic Technician or six months experience as an Orthopedic Technician in a similar setting is preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.
