Technology Intern Jobs in Seattle: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a technology intern job in Seattle?
Start by targeting South Lake Union and the Eastside corridor, where cloud platforms, enterprise software firms, and healthtech companies run the largest intern cohorts. Candidates who stand out typically have hands-on project experience, familiarity with cloud tools, and a GitHub portfolio showing real work. Applying directly through company career pages during winter and spring recruiting cycles gives you the earliest shot at Seattle's most competitive programs.
Which companies hire technology interns in Seattle?
Companies currently hiring technology interns in Seattle include Amazon, REI, and Aritzia, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Seattle's intern market is anchored by large tech campuses alongside a steady pipeline of mid-size software, aerospace, and life sciences employers scattered across the metro.
Are there remote technology intern jobs in Seattle?
Yes, though availability depends heavily on the role. About 42% of technology intern openings tied to Seattle are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with most flexibility found in software development, data analysis, and UX research positions. Hardware, lab-based, and IT infrastructure internships in Seattle nearly always require on-site presence.
How can I get a technology intern job in Seattle with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is targeting Seattle's mid-size software and cloud services companies, which often hire interns earlier in their academic careers than large tech campuses do. Community college and university co-op partnerships with Eastside employers open doors without prior experience. Building a portfolio on GitHub, contributing to open-source projects, and attending Seattle-area hackathons all give candidates a concrete edge when competing for entry-level roles.
