Test automation engineers in Rhode Island earn a median of about $101,790 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $80,220 for the lowest 10% to over $136,590 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire test automation engineers in Rhode Island?
Rhode Island test automation engineer roles are posted by Anduril, Fidelity TalentSource, and SAIC and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Rhode Island's concentration of large healthcare, insurance, and defense employers means openings tend to skew toward enterprise-scale automation environments with established QA teams.
Which Rhode Island cities have the most test automation engineer jobs?
Cranston, North Kingstown, and Newport have the most test automation engineer openings in Rhode Island. Providence drives the bulk of listings as the state's primary corporate hub, home to financial institutions and healthcare headquarters, while Woonsocket draws demand from CVS Health's large technology operations and the Quonset corridor supports defense and advanced manufacturing employers with dedicated QA engineering needs.
