Entry Level Test Engineering Manager Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level test engineering manager job?
Employers hiring at this level look for candidates who can demonstrate hands-on testing experience, even from internships, capstone projects, or bootcamp work. Familiarity with test planning, defect tracking tools, and quality assurance workflows gives you a clear edge. Highlighting any experience coordinating a small team or mentoring peers on a project also signals leadership readiness, which matters early in a test engineering manager path.
Which companies hire entry level test engineering managers?
Companies hiring entry level test engineering managers right now include Northrop Grumman, Collins Aerospace, and Quanta Manufacturing Nashville, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level tends to come from technology firms, manufacturers, and product companies building out quality engineering teams who want to develop junior talent into long-term managers.
Are there remote entry level test engineering manager jobs?
Yes, though on-site roles are more common at the entry level since employers often prefer in-person onboarding for emerging managers. About 11% of entry level test engineering manager openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, so options do exist for candidates who need location flexibility while starting out in this role.
Are these new grad test engineering manager jobs?
Yes, these listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior roles that explicitly welcome candidates with zero to two years of experience. A posting is typically new grad friendly when it accepts internship experience or a strong portfolio in place of years in the field, does not require prior people management, and frames the role as a growth opportunity rather than a senior position.
Which industries hire the most entry level test engineering managers?
Entry Level test engineering manager roles concentrate in Electronics & Hardware, Manufacturing, and Technology & Software, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive early-career hiring because they run continuous product development and quality cycles that require coordinated test oversight, making them natural entry points for candidates building their first management experience in test engineering.
