Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Commercial Lead
Translate your credentials into U.S. specialty terms
TN eligibility for Commercial Lead roles hinges on your degree aligning with fields like business, economics, or marketing. Get a credential evaluation confirming your Canadian or Mexican degree maps to a recognized U.S. bachelor's equivalent before approaching employers.
Target employers with recent visa filing history
Companies with recent visa filings for business roles are already familiar with professional visa sponsorship. Prioritize those employers because they understand the visa sponsorship process—and TN qualification relies on meeting specific job requirements and educational credentials rather than government filing procedures.
Search verified TN-sponsoring roles on Migrate Mate
Most general job boards don't filter by visa sponsorship type. Use Migrate Mate to find Commercial Lead positions at employers who have confirmed they support TN visa candidates, so you're not guessing from a standard job listing.
Prepare a role-specific support letter before your offer
The support letter your employer writes for TN adjudication must connect your Commercial Lead duties to the USMCA's management consultant or business category. Draft a template outlining your responsibilities so HR can adapt it quickly once you have an offer.
Distinguish your role clearly from H-1B-dependent positions
Some employers default to H-1B for professional hires and don't realize Commercial Lead roles can qualify under TN. Bring a one-page summary showing how the role meets USMCA criteria so the recruiter can flag this to their immigration counsel early.
Plan your Canadian port-of-entry filing strategically
Canadians can activate TN status at the border the day they start, but presenting at a busy crossing during peak hours risks delays. Filing at a preclearance airport like Pearson or YVR typically moves faster than a land border crossing on a Monday morning.

Find Commercial Lead JobsCommercial Lead TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Commercial Lead role qualify for TN visa sponsorship?
It depends on how the role is structured. Commercial Lead positions often qualify under the USMCA's management consultant or business analyst categories, but the job duties must align closely with those definitions. A title alone isn't enough. Your employer's support letter needs to connect your day-to-day responsibilities to the relevant USMCA professional category, and your degree must correspond to that field.
How does TN visa sponsorship compare to H-1B for a Commercial Lead?
TN has no annual lottery, no cap for Canadians, and no multi-month USCIS processing wait. You can activate status at a port of entry the same day as your start date. H-1B requires a lottery registration each spring, a lengthy adjudication period, and an October 1 start date. For a qualifying Commercial Lead role, TN is a faster and more predictable path for Canadian and Mexican professionals.
Can Mexican nationals get TN sponsorship for Commercial Lead jobs?
Yes, but the process differs from Canada. Mexican TN applicants must apply through a U.S. consulate rather than at the border, which adds processing time. Mexico also has a 5,500 annual allocation under USMCA, though this cap has not historically been reached. Mexican professionals with a qualifying degree and a confirmed offer from a sponsoring employer are eligible under the same occupational categories as Canadians.
Where can I find Commercial Lead jobs that offer TN visa sponsorship?
Most standard job listings don't specify which visa types an employer will support, which makes screening time-consuming. Migrate Mate filters roles by sponsorship type so you can identify Commercial Lead positions at employers who have confirmed they work with TN visa candidates, without having to ask in every application whether the company supports your status.
What documents does a Commercial Lead applicant need for TN approval?
You'll need a valid Canadian or Mexican passport, a detailed employer support letter describing your Commercial Lead duties and confirming the position meets USMCA professional category criteria, and proof of your qualifying degree. A credential evaluation is recommended if your degree was issued outside the United States. Canadian applicants present these directly at the port of entry; Mexican applicants submit them as part of the consular application package.
