Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Content Designer
Match your degree to the job description
TN approval depends on your degree field aligning with the Content Designer role. A degree in communications, technical writing, or human-computer interaction strengthens your case more than a general arts degree, even if your work history is identical.
Target employers with USMCA filing history
Look for employers who have recent visa filings and experience with sponsorship processes. Companies with established immigration support teams already understand the documentation requirements for work visas, which reduces back-and-forth during the offer stage and speeds up your start date.
Get your job offer letter precisely scoped
The offer letter must describe your duties in terms that map to a qualifying TN category. Vague titles like 'content creator' can trigger CBP questions. Request that your employer specify design systems, UX writing, or technical documentation responsibilities explicitly.
Use Migrate Mate to find TN-sponsoring employers
Search Migrate Mate to identify Content Designer roles at employers with recent visa filings and sponsorship experience. It filters out positions that won't support your visa status, saving you from applying to roles that can't move forward with a TN candidate.
Prepare a credential evaluation before interviewing
If your degree is from a Canadian or Mexican institution, have it evaluated by a NACES-approved organization before you reach the offer stage. CBP officers at land ports assess your documents on the spot, and delays there mean delays to your start date.
Understand what happens if your role scope shifts
If your employer restructures your Content Designer role after your TN is issued, a material change in duties may require filing an amended TN. Confirm with your employer's immigration contact how role changes are handled before you accept the offer.

Find Content Designer JobsContent Designer TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Content Designer role qualify for a TN visa?
It depends on how the role is scoped. Content Designer positions that involve technical writing, UX writing for software products, or information architecture can qualify under the Computer Systems Analyst or Engineer categories. Roles focused primarily on graphic design or brand content are harder to fit within the defined TN occupation list and may require a different visa category.
How does the TN visa compare to the H-1B for Content Designer roles?
The TN has no annual lottery, no cap for Canadian citizens, and can be processed at the port of entry for Canadians in a single day. The H-1B requires a lottery selection, a full USCIS petition process, and months of waiting. For a Content Designer with a qualifying degree and a well-scoped offer letter, the TN is significantly faster and more predictable to obtain.
What documents does my employer need to provide for my TN application?
Your employer must provide a support letter that includes your job title, a description of duties that maps to a qualifying TN category, your anticipated start date, your salary, and confirmation that the position is full-time. Canadian citizens present this letter at the port of entry. Mexican citizens submit it as part of their consular visa application package.
How can I find Content Designer jobs that sponsor TN visas?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. It surfaces Content Designer roles at employers with recent visa filings, so you're not guessing which companies have experience with visa sponsorship. Standard job boards don't filter by visa sponsorship type, which means you can spend weeks applying to roles at companies unfamiliar with supporting work visa candidates.
Can Mexican citizens get TN status for Content Designer roles the same way Canadians can?
No. Canadian citizens apply at a U.S. port of entry or pre-clearance location and can be approved the same day with the right documentation. Mexican citizens must apply at a U.S. consulate in Mexico, which requires scheduling an appointment, submitting a full visa application, and waiting for consular processing before traveling to the United States.
