Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as an ERP Consultant
Frame your credentials around Management Consultant
TN visa doesn't list ERP Consultant as a named category, so your offer letter and credentials must map explicitly to Management Consultant. A degree in business, information systems, or a related field strengthens this classification at the border or consulate.
Target employers with active USMCA hiring infrastructure
Mid-size to enterprise companies running SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics implementations are your strongest target pool. Employers who have filed TN petitions before understand the support letter requirements and move faster through the process than first-time sponsors.
Get your offer letter reviewed before crossing
Canadians presenting at the port of entry need an offer letter that explicitly describes consulting activities, your degree field, and the specific ERP platform involved. Vague language like 'technology support' has led to CBP refusals that a well-drafted letter avoids.
Search for TN-sponsored ERP roles using Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter ERP Consultant openings by employers with recent visa filings. This surfaces roles where the hiring team is experienced with visa sponsorship, which shortens negotiation time and reduces the risk of a withdrawn offer.
Negotiate employer support letter specificity upfront
Before signing an offer, confirm your employer will specify the consulting scope, project timeline, and your qualifying degree in the support letter. Clear, detailed language describing your management consulting activities and how they align with TN eligibility requirements reduces the chance of a CBP officer requesting additional documentation at the port of entry.
Understand the Mexican TN cap before accepting a role
Mexican nationals face a 5,500 annual TN allocation, which can affect timing if you're applying later in a fiscal year. Factor this into your start date negotiation and ask your employer whether they have handled TN filings for Mexican nationals previously.

Find ERP Consultant JobsERP Consultant TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does ERP Consultant qualify directly for a TN visa?
There's no ERP Consultant category listed in the USMCA TN occupation schedule. The qualifying classification is Management Consultant, so your role must involve advising on business systems and processes, not just technical configuration or end-user support. Your offer letter and degree need to support that framing clearly or CBP may deny entry.
How does TN visa compare to H-1B for ERP Consultant roles?
TN has no lottery, no annual cap for Canadians, and can be obtained at a Canadian port of entry the same day you present your documents. H-1B requires employer sponsorship months in advance, a lottery selection, and USCIS adjudication. For ERP Consultants who qualify under Management Consultant, TN is faster and more predictable than H-1B in almost every scenario.
Can I switch ERP platforms or clients while on TN status?
Material changes to your role, including a significant shift in platform focus or client base, may require an amended TN or a new filing depending on how your original approval was documented. If your support letter specified SAP implementation and you move to Oracle project work full-time, you should get guidance on whether your current TN still covers the revised scope.
How do I find ERP Consultant jobs where employers already understand TN sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built for this search. It surfaces ERP Consultant roles from employers with recent visa filings, so you're not educating a recruiter on what the visa category means. Filtering by employers experienced with visa sponsorship dramatically reduces the time between first contact and an offer you can actually use to cross the border.
What happens if CBP denies my TN at the port of entry?
A CBP denial doesn't bar you from reapplying, but you'll need to address whatever documentation gap caused the refusal before attempting again. Common issues for ERP Consultants include offer letters that describe technical tasks rather than consulting activities, or degree fields that CBP doesn't consider directly related to management consulting. Strengthening your support letter and having your degree evaluation on hand resolves most of these problems.
