Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship in Head Of Partnerships
Align your credentials to the Management Consultant category
TN visa approval for Head of Partnerships roles hinges on framing the position under Management Consultant, not a generic business title. Your degree and offer letter must clearly reflect advisory, strategic, or analytical functions, not pure sales.
Target employers with cross-border partnership operations
Companies managing vendor networks, channel programs, or international alliances file TN petitions more routinely. Focus your search on tech, SaaS, and professional services firms where partnerships drive core revenue and the role has clear strategic scope.
Use Migrate Mate to find verified TN-sponsoring employers
Migrate Mate filters Head of Partnerships openings by employers with recent visa filings, helping you find roles at companies experienced with work visa sponsorship processes.
Prepare a detailed offer letter before any border crossing
Canadian citizens can obtain TN status at a port of entry, but CBP officers scrutinize management-level roles closely. Your offer letter must specify the strategic scope of the partnerships function, your reporting structure, and your qualifying degree field.
Negotiate TN filing responsibility into your offer terms
Unlike H-1B visa, employers aren't legally required to cover TN preparation costs. Address this during negotiation, not after signing. Confirm the employer will handle documentation and any legal fees before you accept the role.
Confirm Mexican TN appointment lead times before accepting timelines
Mexican citizens require a consular visa appointment, which can run several weeks depending on location and season. Factor this into your start-date negotiation so your employer isn't expecting a two-week onboarding when your appointment is six weeks out.
Head Of Partnerships TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Head of Partnerships role qualify for TN visa status?
It can, but the role must be structured under the Management Consultant category, which requires that the position involves providing strategic or analytical guidance to the business rather than primarily executing sales. Your offer letter needs to describe the advisory and cross-functional nature of the partnerships function explicitly, and your degree should be in business, marketing, or a related field.
How does TN visa sponsorship compare to H-1B for this role?
TN has no lottery and no annual cap for Canadian citizens, so there's no waiting cycle or random selection. H-1B requires employer sponsorship, a lottery registration in March, and a potential wait of over a year before you can start. For a Head of Partnerships role at a company familiar with TN filings, TN is faster and more predictable, though it does not lead directly to permanent residence the way H-1B can.
Where can I find Head of Partnerships jobs that offer TN visa sponsorship?
Most general job boards don't filter by visa category, which means you spend time applying to roles where the employer has never sponsored a TN. Migrate Mate is built specifically for this, letting you search Head of Partnerships openings by employers who have an established sponsorship history, so your applications go to companies already set up to support the process.
Can Canadian applicants get TN status at the border for a senior role like Head of Partnerships?
Yes, Canadians can apply at a U.S. port of entry without a prior visa. However, management-level roles receive closer scrutiny from CBP officers than technical ones do. Bring a detailed offer letter, your degree credentials, and documentation demonstrating the strategic scope of the position. If the role is ambiguous, a USCIS-filed petition with an I-129 gives you an adjudicated record before you travel.
What happens to my TN status if the partnerships role changes significantly after I start?
TN status is tied to the specific position and employer documented in your petition or border application. If your responsibilities shift materially, such as moving from strategic partnerships to direct sales management, you may need to file an amended TN with updated documentation. Check with your employer's immigration contact if your role evolves, since working outside your approved TN scope creates status risk.
