Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Hotel Shuttle Driver
Verify your commercial driving credentials transfer
Your Canadian or Mexican commercial driver's license must map to a U.S. equivalent before an employer can sponsor you. Research which CDL class your home country license corresponds to, since some hotels require Class B with a passenger endorsement.
Target hotel chains with dedicated transportation departments
Large full-service hotels and airport properties maintain in-house shuttle fleets and have HR teams familiar with work authorization paperwork. Smaller boutique hotels often outsource drivers and rarely navigate TN visa sponsorship on their own.
Ask employers about their TN visa application process upfront
Before accepting an offer, confirm the hotel is experienced with work visa sponsorship and understands the TN visa process for transportation roles. Some employers incorrectly assume shuttle driver positions don't qualify for TN status, which can delay your application at the port of entry or consulate.
Search TN-sponsored driver roles through Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter hotel shuttle and transportation roles by TN visa sponsorship history. It surfaces employers who have actively sponsored TN workers, so you're not cold-applying to hotels unfamiliar with the process.
Prepare a clear employment letter matching TN criteria
Your offer letter must describe the role as Transportation Worker under USMCA, state the work location, duration, and confirm full-time status. Vague letters referencing a general 'driver' title get flagged at the port of entry.
Understand Mexican nationals face a separate TN cap
Mexican professionals have a 5,500 annual TN allocation managed by USCIS, unlike Canadians who apply at the border with no cap. If you're Mexican, factor in USCIS processing timelines and file Form I-129 well before your intended start date.
Hotel Shuttle Driver TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Hotel Shuttle Driver role qualify for TN visa sponsorship?
Yes. Hotel Shuttle Driver positions fall under the Transportation Workers occupational category recognized by USMCA, making both Canadian and Mexican citizens eligible for TN visa sponsorship. For Canadian citizens, the employer provides a support letter outlining the transportation duties and work location, which you present at the U.S. border or port of entry. For Mexican citizens, the employer provides the same support letter, and you apply at a U.S. consulate. No government filing is required before the application process begins.
How does TN sponsorship compare to H-1B for a Hotel Shuttle Driver?
TN is significantly more straightforward for this role. H-1B visa requires a specialty occupation tied to a bachelor's degree, which shuttle driving doesn't satisfy, so most Hotel Shuttle Driver positions are ineligible for H-1B. TN has no annual lottery for Canadians, no degree requirement, and Canadian applicants can receive approval at the port of entry the same day they apply.
What documents does my employer need to file for TN sponsorship?
Your employer needs an offer letter specifying your title as a Transportation Worker under USMCA, your work location, compensation, and employment duration. Canadian applicants present this support letter at a U.S. port of entry. Mexican nationals apply at a U.S. consulate with the employer's support letter and required documentation before traveling.
Where can I find Hotel Shuttle Driver jobs that already offer TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lets you search specifically for Hotel Shuttle Driver and transportation roles filtered by TN visa sponsorship history, so you're targeting employers who have navigated this process before. Applying to hotels with no TN sponsorship experience adds significant delays while their HR team learns the filing requirements from scratch.
Can I switch hotel employers while on a TN visa as a shuttle driver?
Yes, but your TN status is tied to your current employer. Before leaving, your new hotel will need to prepare a support letter for you and the authorization process depends on your citizenship. If you're Canadian, you'll present the support letter at the U.S. border or port of entry; if you're Mexican, you'll apply at a U.S. consulate. You cannot start work for the new employer until this new TN authorization is approved.
