Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Learning Program Manager
Frame your credentials around qualifying TN categories
Learning Program Manager isn't a named TN category, so your offer letter must align the role to a recognized classification like management consultant. A degree in instructional design, organizational development, or a related field strengthens that framing significantly.
Target employers with established L&D infrastructure
Companies with dedicated learning and development teams have already built internal processes for defining roles by function, not just title. That makes it easier to structure your offer letter in terms USCIS and CBP officers recognize as a qualifying specialty occupation.
Use Migrate Mate to find sponsoring employers fast
Migrate Mate filters Learning Program Manager roles by TN visa sponsorship history, so you're applying to employers who've navigated this before. That prior experience on the employer side shortens negotiation and reduces the risk of a poorly drafted offer letter.
Get your Canadian degree equivalency documented early
If your credentials are from a Canadian institution, request a transcript and degree verification letter from your university before you start interviewing. CBP officers may ask whether your education maps to a U.S. bachelor's degree in the relevant field.
Negotiate for employer-drafted TN support documents
Ask during the offer stage, not after signing, for the employer to draft the TN support letter with specific duty descriptions tied to the management consultant or engineer classification. A vague letter citing only your job title is one of the most common TN denial triggers.
Understand Mexican nationals face a consular appointment requirement
If you're a Mexican citizen, you can't use the border or pre-flight inspection process available to Canadians. Factor in U.S. consulate wait times in Mexico when negotiating your start date, and confirm your employer's timeline accommodates that window.

Find Learning Program Manager JobsLearning Program Manager TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Learning Program Manager role actually qualify for a TN visa?
It depends on how the role is defined in your offer letter. Learning Program Manager isn't an explicitly named TN category, but roles focused on organizational learning strategy, program design, or workforce development can qualify under the management consultant classification if your duties are advisory and require at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field like organizational development, education, or business.
How does TN visa sponsorship for this role compare to H-1B?
TN has no annual lottery, no cap for Canadian citizens, and can be approved at the border or a pre-flight inspection port on the same day you present your documents. H-1B requires an annual lottery with roughly a one-in-four selection chance and a process that takes months. For Learning Program Manager roles, TN is faster to activate and doesn't strand you in a multi-year wait if you're Canadian.
Where can I find Learning Program Manager jobs that offer TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. It lets you filter Learning Program Manager listings by TN visa sponsorship, so you're not spending time on roles where the employer hasn't indicated willingness to support the TN process. That filtering matters because sponsorship support at this stage varies widely across employers, even at companies otherwise open to international hires.
What documents does my employer need to prepare for my TN application?
Your employer needs to provide a detailed support letter on company letterhead that describes your specific duties, confirms the role requires your degree, states your TN classification and why it applies, and confirms you'll be employed full-time. You'll also need your original degree and transcripts. For Canadian citizens, you present these documents to a CBP officer at the border or pre-clearance port.
Can Mexican nationals use the TN visa for Learning Program Manager roles?
Yes, but the process differs from the Canadian pathway. Mexican citizens must apply at a U.S. consulate in Mexico rather than at a port of entry. Mexico also has a TN numerical cap, though it's rarely hit for management-level roles. Build consulate appointment wait times into your start date negotiation, since scheduling can add weeks to your timeline.
