Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Parts Clerk
Align your credentials to engineering technology
Parts Clerk positions must qualify under the TN engineer technologist category. Gather transcripts showing a degree or diploma in mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing technology before you approach employers about sponsorship.
Target manufacturers with established TN programs
Automotive OEMs, heavy equipment distributors, and aerospace parts suppliers file TN petitions routinely. Focus your search on companies in these sectors, where HR teams already understand the TN process and won't need educating.
Use Migrate Mate to find Parts Clerk openings with TN sponsorship
Search Migrate Mate to filter Parts Clerk listings by employers that support TN visa hiring. It saves you from applying to roles where sponsorship is unavailable or where the company has no experience with the process.
Confirm the offer letter covers TN documentation requirements
Your employer's offer letter must specify your job title, duties, and that the role requires a professional in your TN category. A vague letter is a common reason CBP officers request additional documentation at the border.
Understand the Mexican TN cap and plan accordingly
Mexico-national TN visas are subject to a 5,500 annual allocation under USMCA. If you're Mexican, file through USCIS rather than at the border so your employer can track the petition and respond to any requests for evidence within the statutory window.
Prepare for employer E-Verify questions before interviews
Many parts distribution and manufacturing employers are enrolled in E-Verify. Confirm your potential employer participates and that they're familiar with I-9 completion for TN holders, so employment verification doesn't create delays after your visa is approved.

Find Parts Clerk JobsParts Clerk TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Parts Clerk role actually qualify for the TN visa?
Yes, but the position must fit within a recognized TN professional category, most commonly engineer technologist. The job duties need to require specialized technical knowledge of parts systems, inventory control, or mechanical components, and your degree or diploma must align with that field. A general warehouse or retail parts role without a technical credential typically won't qualify.
How does TN compare to H-1B for a Parts Clerk position?
TN is faster and more predictable for Parts Clerk roles that meet the specialty occupation threshold. There's no annual lottery for Canadians, and approved applications can take effect the same day at a port of entry. H-1B requires lottery selection each spring and a wait of several months before work authorization begins. For most Parts Clerk applicants, TN is the more practical path when the role qualifies.
How do I find Parts Clerk employers that sponsor TN visas?
Search Migrate Mate to filter Parts Clerk openings by TN visa sponsorship availability. Many employers in automotive, aerospace, and heavy equipment distribution regularly hire under TN, but that willingness isn't always visible in standard job listings. Filtering by visa type upfront prevents wasted applications to companies that don't support the process.
Can I switch Parts Clerk employers after my TN is approved?
Yes, but your TN status is tied to your specific employer. If you change jobs, your new employer must support a new TN petition before you begin work for them. Canadians can do this at a port of entry with a new offer letter and credential documents. Mexicans must file a new petition with USCIS. Don't start work with a new employer until the new TN is approved.
What documents should I bring to the port of entry for a Parts Clerk TN application as a Canadian?
You'll need a valid Canadian passport, a detailed offer letter from your employer, evidence of your qualifying credential such as a transcript or diploma in a technical field, and a completed TN support letter from your employer outlining how your role meets the professional category requirements. CBP officers evaluate all of these at the point of entry, so each document must be clear and consistent with the others.
