Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Pediatric Cardiologist
Verify your credentials meet USMCA standards
TN approval for physicians requires a license to practice in the U.S. state where you'll work. Start the medical licensing process early, state boards can take six to twelve months to issue a license, and your employer can't file without one.
Target children's hospitals with active physician programs
Academic medical centers and freestanding children's hospitals sponsor international physicians most reliably because they have in-house legal teams familiar with TN documentation. Fellowship-affiliated programs are especially experienced with cross-border credentialing for subspecialists like pediatric cardiologists.
Get your job offer letter TN-ready before filing
The offer letter is your primary TN document. It must specify your role as a physician, confirm the subspecialty, state the employment start date, and describe how the position requires your medical degree. A vague letter is the most common reason for a TN denial at the port of entry.
Understand how Mexican and Canadian TN processing differs
Canadians can present TN documents directly at a land border or airport and receive a decision the same day. Mexican nationals must schedule a consular interview and wait for visa issuance, so build four to eight weeks into your timeline when negotiating a start date with your employer.
Search for sponsoring employers using Migrate Mate
Narrowing your job search to employers who have sponsored physicians for TN or H-1B visas saves significant time. Migrate Mate filters roles by visa sponsorship history, so you can focus your applications on pediatric cardiology positions at institutions already set up to hire internationally.
Negotiate TN renewal terms before accepting the offer
TN status is granted in three-year increments with unlimited renewals, but renewal requires a continuing job offer. Confirm during offer negotiation that your employer will sponsor renewals and understands they must provide updated documentation each cycle, not just at initial hire.

Find Pediatric Cardiologist JobsPediatric Cardiologist TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Pediatric Cardiologist role qualify for TN visa status?
Yes. Physicians are a named occupation category under the USMCA treaty. Pediatric Cardiologist qualifies because the role requires a medical degree and subspecialty training. You'll need proof of your medical degree, board certification or eligibility, and a state medical license for the state where you'll practice. Your employer's offer letter must specify the physician role explicitly.
How does the TN visa compare to H-1B for Pediatric Cardiologists?
The TN visa has significant practical advantages for this role. There's no annual lottery, no cap for Canadian citizens, and no USCIS petition required for Canadians seeking entry at a port of entry. H-1B requires an approved I-129 petition and subjects you to random selection. TN also processes faster, though it doesn't support immigrant intent, so green card planning requires separate legal strategy.
Can I use Migrate Mate to find Pediatric Cardiologist jobs with TN visa sponsorship?
Yes. Migrate Mate is built specifically for Canadian and Mexican professionals searching for roles where employers are ready to sponsor TN visas. You can search for Pediatric Cardiologist positions and filter by sponsorship history, which helps you avoid applying to institutions unfamiliar with international physician hiring or TN documentation requirements.
What documents does my employer need to prepare for my TN visa filing?
Your employer must provide a signed job offer letter that identifies your role as a physician, describes the subspecialty duties, confirms the employment terms, and states that the position requires your medical degree. For Canadians, this letter is presented directly at the port of entry. For Mexican nationals, the employer also assists with the DS-160 visa application process through a U.S. consulate.
What happens if my TN status expires before my employer files for renewal?
If you remain in the U.S. beyond your TN expiration without a timely renewal, you fall out of status. There is no automatic grace period for TN holders equivalent to H-1B's 60-day rule. You and your employer should initiate renewal paperwork at least 90 days before your current status expires to avoid any gap in your authorization to practice.
