Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Practice Manager
Frame your credentials around Management Consultant duties
TN status for Practice Managers routes through the Management Consultant category, not a generic manager category. Your resume, credentials, and job offer letter must reflect advisory, analytical, or systems planning functions rather than purely supervisory responsibilities.
Verify your degree field aligns with the role
CBP officers assess whether your education directly supports the consulting functions in the offer letter. A degree in healthcare administration, business management, or a related field strengthens your case more than an unrelated credential paired with experience alone.
Target healthcare groups with multi-site operational structures
Practice Manager roles at multi-location physician groups, specialty clinics, or hospital networks are more likely to involve the systems-level responsibilities CBP expects. These employers also have established HR processes for navigating TN sponsorship documentation.
Search TN-sponsoring employers through Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Practice Manager openings by employers with active TN visa sponsorship history. This saves time you'd otherwise spend screening postings that don't support international candidates or lack the organizational complexity TN requires.
Require a detailed support letter from your employer
The employer's support letter must specify your consulting duties, the business need, your Canadian or Mexican citizenship, and your qualifying degree. A vague letter citing only your job title is a common reason CBP requests additional evidence or denies entry.
Understand the Mexican processing timeline before accepting an offer
Mexican citizens cannot self-petition at the port of entry and must schedule a consular appointment. Factor two to four weeks of consular wait time into your start date negotiation so your employer doesn't rescind the offer due to an unexpected delay.

Find Practice Manager JobsPractice Manager TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Practice Manager role qualify for TN visa sponsorship?
It depends on how the role is structured. TN visa status for Practice Managers typically falls under the Management Consultant category, which requires the position to involve advisory, analytical, or organizational planning functions. If the role is framed purely as administrative oversight with no consulting component, CBP may not approve it. Your offer letter and job description need to reflect the consulting scope explicitly.
How does TN compare to H-1B for Practice Manager positions?
TN has no annual lottery, no cap for Canadian citizens, and can be issued at the port of entry the same day for Canadians. H-1B requires employer sponsorship through a competitive lottery, a lengthy USCIS filing process, and approval before you can start work. For Canadian and Mexican Practice Managers, TN is significantly faster to obtain and can be renewed indefinitely in two or three-year increments as long as you maintain a qualifying job offer.
How do I find Practice Manager jobs that offer TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. It surfaces Practice Manager openings from employers with recent visa filings, so you're not manually filtering through postings that exclude international candidates. This is especially useful for roles where sponsorship eligibility isn't advertised but the employer has prior experience with visa sponsorship processes.
Can Canadian and Mexican citizens both use TN for Practice Manager roles?
Yes, but the process differs. Canadian citizens can present their TN application directly to CBP at a port of entry or pre-clearance location and receive status the same day. Mexican citizens must apply through a U.S. consulate and obtain a TN visa stamp before traveling. Both nationalities must meet the same Management Consultant category requirements, including a qualifying degree and a detailed employer support letter.
What documents does the employer need to prepare for TN sponsorship?
The employer must provide a detailed support letter on company letterhead that outlines the consulting or managerial duties, the business need for the role, the anticipated duration of employment, your citizenship, and your qualifying educational credentials. For Mexican citizens, the employer may also need to coordinate timing around the consular appointment window. A poorly written support letter is the leading cause of TN delays and denials for Practice Manager applicants.
