Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship in Radiation Therapist
Verify your credentials meet TN standards
TN visa sponsorship for Radiation Therapists requires a bachelor's degree in radiation therapy or a closely related field. A diploma in radiological technology alone may not satisfy adjudicators, so confirm your credential aligns before applying.
Target hospitals experienced with visa sponsorship
Academic medical centers, cancer treatment networks, and VA hospitals have experience sponsoring work visas for specialized roles. Focus your outreach on oncology departments at large health systems, where HR teams are accustomed to handling visa sponsorship for allied health professionals. For Canadians, be prepared to present your educational credentials and job offer at the U.S. port of entry; for Mexicans, your employer's support letter will be submitted with your consular application.
Get your state license before the offer stage
Most U.S. employers won't extend a Radiation Therapist offer without proof of ARRT certification and a state license or a clear path to licensure. Clearing these before you apply removes the biggest barrier for sponsoring employers.
Use Migrate Mate to find sponsoring employers
Searching broadly wastes time on employers unfamiliar with visa sponsorship. Migrate Mate filters Radiation Therapist roles by employers with recent visa filings, so you're applying to companies already experienced with supporting work visa candidates.
Prepare a support letter that satisfies CBP
Canadian applicants enter at the border, where a CBP officer reviews your employer's support letter on the spot. The letter must state your job title as 'Radiation Therapist,' your wage, and that the role requires a relevant degree.
Understand Mexican applicants need a consular appointment
Mexican professionals cannot self-petition at the border and must apply at a U.S. consulate. Schedule your appointment early through USCIS, as consular availability for TN applicants in certain cities can add weeks to your timeline.
Radiation Therapist TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Radiation Therapist qualify for TN visa sponsorship?
Yes. Radiation Therapist is explicitly listed as a qualifying TN occupation under USMCA. You need a baccalaureate degree in radiation therapy or a related field, active ARRT certification, and a job offer from a U.S. employer. The role must involve direct therapeutic radiation treatment, not a general radiologic technologist function.
How does TN compare to H-1B for Radiation Therapist roles?
TN has no annual cap and no lottery, so you can start a Radiation Therapist role as soon as you have an offer and qualifying credentials. H-1B visa selection is random and limited to 85,000 slots per year. For Canadians especially, TN is faster, lower cost, and available year-round without waiting for an April registration window.
Where can I find Radiation Therapist jobs with TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for TN visa job seekers. It surfaces Radiation Therapist roles at employers with documented TN sponsorship activity, so you're not cold-applying to HR teams who have never processed a TN filing. Filtering by sponsorship history significantly narrows your search to realistic opportunities.
Can my employer sponsor my TN visa if they have never done it before?
Yes. TN does not require USCIS pre-approval or a government labor test, so any U.S. employer can sponsor a TN professional for the first time. The employer prepares a support letter, and for Canadian applicants, you present it at the border. The process is simpler than H-1B, which helps first-time sponsoring employers participate.
What happens to my TN status if my Radiation Therapist contract ends early?
Your TN status is tied to that specific employer and role. If the contract ends, you're out of status and must either secure a new TN-qualifying offer and refile, or depart the U.S. There is no formal grace period codified for TN holders the way the 60-day H-1B grace period is structured, so acting quickly on a new offer matters.
