Entry Level Trial Attorney Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level trial attorney job?
Entry level trial attorney employers look for candidates with courtroom exposure through law school clinics, externships, or internships at public defender or district attorney offices. A demonstrated ability to draft motions, conduct legal research, and present arguments gives you an edge. Clerkship experience and moot court participation also signal trial readiness to hiring managers evaluating new graduates.
Which companies hire entry level trial attorneys?
Companies hiring entry level trial attorneys right now include Abramson Labor, Sentry, and Ascendion, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. At this level, hiring tends to come from government agencies, public interest organizations, insurance defense firms, and regional law firms that build their trial teams from the ground up.
Are there remote entry level trial attorney jobs?
Yes, though trial work is predominantly in-person given courtroom obligations. About 33% of entry level trial attorney openings are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, typically covering research, drafting, and case preparation tasks rather than active litigation. Candidates open to on-site roles will find significantly more openings at this stage.
Are these new grad trial attorney jobs?
Yes, these listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior roles that explicitly welcome candidates with little or no professional experience. A new grad friendly posting typically requires zero to two years of experience and accepts law school clinics, externships, or internship work in place of full-time attorney history. Bar admission status is usually the key qualifying threshold.
Which industries hire the most entry level trial attorneys?
Entry Level trial attorney roles concentrate in Insurance and Technology & Software, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. These sectors drive hiring at this level because they maintain active litigation dockets, rely on junior attorneys to handle high case volumes, and have structured onboarding that supports new graduates building courtroom skills.
