Vice President Jobs in Los Angeles: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a vice president job in Los Angeles?
The strongest path into a vice president role in Los Angeles runs through the city's dominant sectors: entertainment and media, financial services, technology, and commercial real estate. Candidates who move up fastest tend to have deep functional expertise in one of these industries and a network built through Los Angeles-based industry groups, alumni organizations, or prior roles at major studios, banks, or tech firms headquartered here. Lateral moves from director-level roles at mid-size Los Angeles companies often open the door faster than waiting for a promotion at a larger employer.
Which companies hire vice presidents in Los Angeles?
Companies currently hiring vice presidents in Los Angeles include WSP, Oaktree Capital Management, and JLL, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Los Angeles draws a wide mix of employers, from global media conglomerates and investment banks in Century City to growth-stage technology firms in Silicon Beach and healthcare systems across the broader metro.
Are there remote vice president jobs in Los Angeles?
Yes, though remote availability varies by function: strategy, finance, and business development vice president roles are more likely to offer flexibility than operations or production-focused positions, which typically require on-site presence. About 57% of vice president openings tied to Los Angeles are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting broader corporate flexibility at this level. Technology and financial services roles in the Westside and Downtown corridors account for most of the remote-eligible postings.
How can I get a vice president job in Los Angeles with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is targeting senior manager or director roles at mid-size Los Angeles companies, where the step to vice president is shorter than at large corporations. Entertainment industry production companies, boutique investment firms in Beverly Hills, and growth-stage technology startups in Venice and Playa Vista frequently promote from within and hire directors with a clear path upward. Building visibility through Los Angeles industry associations, such as those in media, finance, or real estate, accelerates the timeline considerably.
Which industries hire the most vice presidents in Los Angeles?
Most vice president openings in Los Angeles sit in Investment & Asset Management, Insurance, and Media & Entertainment, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Los Angeles's position as the global center of entertainment, combined with its large financial services base in Century City and its growing technology sector along the Westside, drives consistent executive-level demand across all three of those areas.
