The Department of Mechanical & Civil Engineering and Construction Management at Alabama A&M University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track in the Mechanical Engineering Program at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. We seek a dynamic and highly qualified scholar-educator with expertise in nuclear engineering, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), gas turbine systems, propulsion systems, and thermal-fluid sciences. The successful candidate should be prepared to teach a broad range of undergraduate and graduate courses, including Introduction to Nuclear Engineering, Nuclear Reactor Engineering I and II, Gas Turbine Systems, Propulsion Systems, Computational Fluid Dynamics, and related thermal-science courses.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teach high-quality undergraduate and graduate courses in Mechanical Engineering, including but not limited to:
- Introduction to Nuclear Engineering
- Nuclear Reactor Engineering I and II
- Gas Turbine Systems
- Propulsion Systems
- Computational Fluid Dynamics
- Thermal Sciences and related courses
- Develop, modernize, and enhance Mechanical Engineering courses and laboratories.
- Establish and sustain an active research program that produces peer-reviewed papers and attracts external funding.
- Supervise senior design projects, undergraduate research, and graduate projects and theses.
- Advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students.
- Participate in curriculum development, student learning assessment, and accreditation activities.
- Contribute to department, college, university, and professional service.

Minimum Position Requirements (including certification, license, etc):
- An earned Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field by the appointment start date.
- Evidence of, or strong potential for, excellence in teaching, research, and service appropriate to the appointed rank.
- Ability to teach across the Mechanical Engineering curriculum, with particular emphasis on nuclear engineering, CFD, gas turbines and propulsion, and thermal-fluid sciences.
- Effective written and oral communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, staff, and external partners.

- Expertise and teaching or research experience in nuclear reactor systems, Gas Turbine Systems, and Propulsion Systems.
