Which companies sponsor visas for nurse practitioners in Arizona?
Banner Health is the largest sponsor in Arizona, with NP openings across the Phoenix metro and rural communities. Dignity Health, Valleywise Health, Northern Arizona Healthcare, and the Indian Health Service also have documented sponsorship activity for nurse practitioners. Federally Qualified Health Centers throughout Arizona frequently sponsor NPs due to ongoing shortages in underserved areas.
Which visa types are most common for nurse practitioner roles in Arizona?
The H-1B is the most common visa for nurse practitioners in Arizona, as the role meets the specialty occupation requirement given its master's degree standard. The EB-3 immigrant visa is also used by Arizona health systems for permanent sponsorship. NPs from Canada or Mexico may qualify for TN status, which has a faster process and no annual cap.
Which cities in Arizona have the most nurse practitioner sponsorship jobs?
Phoenix has the highest concentration of NP sponsorship opportunities, driven by Banner Health, HonorHealth, and several large multispecialty groups. Tucson is the second-largest market, with Banner University Medical Center and Carondelet Health Network as key employers. Flagstaff and rural communities in the White Mountains and Navajo Nation region also have consistent openings, often tied to federal or tribal health programs.
How to find nurse practitioner visa sponsorship jobs in Arizona?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters nurse practitioner roles in Arizona by visa sponsorship availability, so you're not sifting through listings that won't support work authorization. The platform surfaces openings from health systems like Banner Health and federally operated facilities that have active sponsorship programs for NP roles across the state.
Are there state-specific factors that affect nurse practitioner visa sponsorship in Arizona?
Arizona is a full practice authority state, meaning nurse practitioners can evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients without physician oversight. This makes NPs more operationally valuable to Arizona employers, which can support stronger sponsorship willingness. Arizona also designates many rural and tribal areas as Health Professional Shortage Areas, and employers in these zones may access federal resources that support international recruitment.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored nurse practitioner jobs in Arizona?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
