Which companies sponsor visas for pharmacy interns in Arizona?
Banner Health, Dignity Health, and Valleywise Health are among the larger Arizona hospital systems that have historically supported visa sponsorship for pharmacy roles. National retail chains like CVS and Walgreens also operate extensively across Phoenix and Tucson. Sponsorship availability varies by position, hiring cycle, and the specific internship structure, so confirming sponsorship willingness directly with each employer is important.
Which visa types are most common for pharmacy intern roles in Arizona?
Pharmacy interns in Arizona on F-1 status often work under Curricular Practical Training or Optional Practical Training, which allows supervised practice as part of a degree program. For post-graduation employment, H-1B visa sponsorship is the most common employer-sponsored path, though it requires a lottery selection. Pharmacy is generally recognized as a specialty occupation, which supports H-1B eligibility for qualified candidates.
How to find pharmacy intern visa sponsorship jobs in Arizona?
Migrate Mate is specifically built for international job seekers and filters pharmacy intern openings in Arizona by visa sponsorship status, saving you from sorting through listings that won't support your work authorization. Searching Migrate Mate for pharmacy intern roles in Arizona lets you identify which Phoenix and Tucson employers are actively hiring and open to sponsoring, which is often the hardest part of the job search for internationally trained candidates.
Which cities in Arizona have the most pharmacy intern sponsorship jobs?
Phoenix and its surrounding metro communities, including Scottsdale, Mesa, and Chandler, account for the majority of pharmacy intern openings in Arizona given the concentration of hospital systems, specialty clinics, and retail pharmacies. Tucson is the second-largest market, driven partly by the University of Arizona Health Network and affiliated teaching sites that regularly host pharmacy interns.
Are there state-specific considerations for pharmacy interns seeking sponsorship in Arizona?
Arizona requires pharmacy interns to hold an active intern license issued by the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy before performing any supervised practice. International students should confirm their intern license status is compatible with their visa work authorization before starting any role. The University of Arizona College of Pharmacy and Midwestern University in Glendale both have established relationships with regional practice sites, which can make finding sponsored internship placements more accessible for enrolled students.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored pharmacy intern jobs in Arizona?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
