Which companies sponsor visas for hospitalists in Arkansas?
The largest sponsors of hospitalist visas in Arkansas include UAMS Medical Center, Baptist Health, Mercy Hospital Northwest Arkansas, and CHI St. Vincent. Regional hospital systems and multispecialty physician groups affiliated with these networks also file H-1B petitions for inpatient medicine roles. Smaller critical access hospitals in rural Arkansas occasionally sponsor hospitalists as well, particularly when recruiting through locum-to-permanent pipelines.
Which visa types are most common for hospitalist roles in Arkansas?
H-1B is the most common visa for hospitalists in Arkansas, as the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at minimum a medical degree. J-1 is also widely used, particularly for international medical graduates completing residency or fellowship in Arkansas who transition directly into hospitalist positions. Physicians with J-1 waivers tied to underserved area service obligations also fill hospitalist roles at qualifying Arkansas facilities.
Which cities in Arkansas have the most hospitalist sponsorship jobs?
Little Rock has the highest concentration of hospitalist sponsorship opportunities, anchored by UAMS Medical Center and the Baptist Health network. Fayetteville and Rogers in northwest Arkansas are the second strongest market, driven by Mercy Hospital and a rapidly growing regional population. Fort Smith and Jonesboro also have active inpatient medicine hiring at regional medical centers, making them worth targeting outside the two primary markets.
How to find hospitalist visa sponsorship jobs in Arkansas?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find hospitalist visa sponsorship jobs in Arkansas. The platform filters positions to surface only employers actively open to sponsoring work visas, which removes the guesswork of cold-applying to hospitals that may not support H-1B or J-1 candidates. You can browse current Arkansas hospitalist openings by location and filter specifically for sponsorship-eligible roles.
Are there state-specific considerations for hospitalists seeking sponsorship in Arkansas?
Arkansas has a documented shortage of inpatient physicians, particularly outside Little Rock and northwest Arkansas, which improves sponsorship prospects at rural and underserved facilities. International medical graduates holding J-1 waivers through the Conrad 30 program or federal agency waivers are frequently placed in Arkansas counties designated as Health Professional Shortage Areas. Physicians pursuing this path commit to a multi-year service period at a qualifying site before gaining full work authorization flexibility.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored hospitalist jobs in Arkansas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
