Which companies sponsor visas for business managers in California?
Technology companies are the most active sponsors for business manager roles in California. Google, Apple, Meta, Salesforce, and Adobe have established sponsorship programs and regularly file H-1B visa petitions for business and operations management positions. Beyond tech, companies in biotech (Genentech, Gilead), entertainment (Disney, Netflix), and financial services (Wells Fargo, Charles Schwab) also sponsor business managers with specialized industry backgrounds.
Which visa types are most common for business manager roles in California?
The H-1B is the most common visa for business manager roles in California, provided the position qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field like business administration, finance, or management. Intracompany transferees moving into managerial roles at California offices may qualify for the L-1A visa. Candidates from Australia may also pursue the E-3 visa, which has no lottery and is often faster to secure.

The platform focuses on employers with documented sponsorship activity, which saves significant time compared to applying broadly. Filtering by California and business manager on Migrate Mate surfaces roles at companies that have sponsored similar positions before.
Are there state-specific considerations for business manager visa sponsorship in California?
California's prevailing wage requirements under H-1B rules tend to be higher than the national average, reflecting the state's elevated cost of living, particularly in the Bay Area and Los Angeles. Employers must certify wages meet Department of Labor prevailing wage levels for the specific county and occupational classification. California also has strict worker protection laws that apply equally to visa-sponsored employees, so employers are generally well-versed in compliant sponsorship practices.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored business manager jobs in California?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
