Job Summary:
We are seeking a Site Content Manager, Health & Wellness with deep knowledge of the health and wellness space, particularly supplements and nutrition, to lead the development of customer-centric content and product merchandising strategies across our ecommerce platform.
This role sits at the intersection of content, commerce, and wellness expertise. This role owns how customers discover, understand, and shop for wellness on our site. You'll connect the dots between education and conversion—building bundles, shaping routines, and creating content that actually helps people decide what to buy.
If you've ever thought "these products should obviously be merchandised together" or "this page is missing how a real person would use this," this role is for you.
Job Expectations:
Content-Driven Merchandising
- Curate product assortments and bundles tailored to specific health goals, conditions, and daily routines (e.g., sleep, gut health, immunity, fitness recovery)
- Identify complementary products and create cohesive "regimen-based" shopping experiences
- Partner with merchandising and category teams to align content with inventory, promotions, and business priorities
- Analyze performance of bundles and curated collections; iterate based on data and customer behavior
Health Content Strategy & Development
- Lead the content development of health topic pages that educate and guide customers (e.g., vitamins for energy, stress support, women's health)
- Collaborate with content, SEO, and medical/compliance teams to ensure accuracy, discoverability, and regulatory alignment
- Translate complex nutritional concepts into clear, engaging, and actionable content for consumers
- Ensure content supports both top-of-funnel education and bottom-of-funnel conversion
Customer Experience & Insights
- Leverage customer insights, search trends, and behavioral data to inform content and merchandising strategies
- Stay current on wellness trends, emerging ingredients, and competitive landscape
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with marketing, product, UX, and analytics teams to execute integrated campaigns and content experiences
- Partner with brand partnerships and merchandising team to highlight key products and innovations
- Support lifecycle and personalization initiatives with relevant content and product recommendations
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in ecommerce merchandising, content strategy, or a related field
- Strongly preferred background as a nutritionist or deep knowledge in dietary supplements or wellness trends
- Experience creating or managing health-related content in a regulated environment is a plus
- Analytical mindset with experience using data to drive decisions
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and project management skills
- Ability to translate complex health topics into consumer-friendly content
Technical & Platform Proficiency:
- High aptitude and ability to make efficient use of online productivity and communication tools, in our case with the Google Workspace suite and Asana
- Experience with Google Business Suite (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms) preferred
Education Requirements:
- Background in Nutrition, Dietetics, Public Health, or a related field OR
- Equivalent hands-on expertise in supplements (e.g. industry experience, certifications, or deep personal/professional immersion)
What Success Looks Like:
- Increased engagement and conversion on health content pages
- High-performing product bundles and regimen-based experiences
- Improved customer understanding and trust in health and wellness offerings

Which companies sponsor visas for content managers in California?
Technology and media companies account for the majority of content manager sponsorships in California. Firms like Salesforce, Adobe, Google, Meta, and Netflix have sponsored H-1B visas for content roles in recent years, according to Department of Labor LCA disclosure data. SaaS companies concentrated in the Bay Area and entertainment and streaming companies in Los Angeles are also consistent sponsors for content management positions.
Which visa types are most common for content manager roles in California?
The H-1B is the most common visa for content managers in California, provided the role is classified as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in a directly related field such as communications, marketing, or journalism. Some content managers also enter on L-1B intracompany transfer visas when moving from a foreign office of a U.S. employer. O-1A visas are a less common path for candidates with demonstrated extraordinary achievement in their field.
Which cities in California have the most content manager sponsorship jobs?
San Francisco and the broader Bay Area generate the highest volume of content manager sponsorship opportunities in California, driven by the concentration of technology and SaaS companies. Los Angeles is the second major hub, particularly for content roles in entertainment, streaming, and digital media. San Diego and Sacramento have smaller but active markets, primarily in health technology, government-adjacent organizations, and regional media companies.
How to find content manager visa sponsorship jobs in California?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find content manager roles in California where employers are open to visa sponsorship. The platform filters jobs specifically by sponsorship willingness, saving time that would otherwise go toward researching individual company policies. For content manager candidates, filtering by industry, such as technology, media, or SaaS, within California is an effective starting point on Migrate Mate.
Are there any California-specific considerations for content managers seeking visa sponsorship?
California's prevailing wage requirements under Department of Labor regulations mean employers must pay H-1B workers the higher of the actual or prevailing wage for the role in the specific metropolitan area. Because San Francisco and Los Angeles are high-cost labor markets, prevailing wages for content manager positions are set at levels that reflect local market rates. California's strong university system, including UC campuses and USC, also produces a pipeline of OPT-eligible international graduates who pursue content management roles before transitioning to H-1B sponsorship.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored content manager jobs in California?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
