ADP Technology Services, Inc. is hiring Application Developers in our Pasadena, CA location.
- Are you empathetic to client needs and inspired by transformation and impacting the lives of millions of people every day?
- Are you looking to join a dynamic, inclusive team environment with a culture of collaboration and belonging?
Well, this may be the role for you! Ready to design what’s next?
To thrive in this career, you’ll need to be enthusiastic, eager to learn, and take on stretch assignments. You strive to learn new technologies and find ways to incorporate what you learn into building your results. You’ll be curious, persistent, and at times persuasive.
As part of our team, you’ll find exciting challenges, get opportunities to grow your career, and develop solid friendships as we design what’s next for ADP and the industry. Pace should not scare you. We still find time for a healthy dose of fun.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Build Teams that thrive. As an experienced leader, you want everyone to shine. You are constantly looking for ways to share your knowledge, motivate others, and keep everyone engaged and productive.
- Learning. You’re always learning new technologies and processes with tools and other training courses, conferences ADP offers, and operating with a “learn as you go” approach with a willingness to figure out new ways of doing things.
- Create Results. You’re proactive and hands-on. When you see a potential issue, you never leave things hanging and unfinished. When you and your team deliver a finished product, it’s as polished as you could make it.
- Continuous Learning. You will actively collaborate with other associates to share ideas or show what you’ve learned. You are eager to learn, keep up with ever-changing technologies, and maintain the ability to create the best tools for our clients.
- Variety of work. There is no typical day. You could be checking in with a team in India one minute, meeting with leadership to review initiatives for the coming quarter later and tomorrow handling a few ad hoc requests from your peers in other departments.
- Influence and inspire confidence. You are comfortable presenting to senior leaders, product owners, and peers with a compelling voice that you demonstrate through executive presence, leading change, and creating clear executive-level communications on milestone achievements.
- Challenges. Inevitable challenges will arise, and we’ll rely on you to look for a solution.
- Responsibilities. Responsible for participating in relevant aspects of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including planning, constructions, testing, reviews, and demonstrations. Develop and review software requirements, create design documents, write programs, package, test, configure, and deploy software. Work with clients, product managers, analysts, architects, and engineers to plan, design, develop, test, and implement information technology solutions. Develop and enhance software programs and data structures that meet business objectives. Design, develop, and deploy GenAI models and algorithms that integrate language models to drive innovation and performance improvements in our software products and services. Conduct data preprocessing, feature engineering, and optimization to improve model accuracy and efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional teams. Develop and maintain software using multiple programming languages like Java, Python, JavaScript and open-source platforms like Linux, Apache, and MySQL, building front-end and back-end solutions, and integrating APIs for seamless system communication. Research and apply emerging open-source tools and best practices, ensure license compliance, contribute to relevant projects, recommend process improvements and upgrades.

YOU’LL LOVE WORKING HERE BECAUSE YOU CAN:
- Have courageous team collaboration. Courage comes from how associates are willing to have difficult conversations, speak up, be an owner, and challenge one another’s ideas to find the best solution.

Which companies sponsor visas for developers in California?
California's largest H-1B sponsors for developer roles include Apple, Google, Meta, Intel, Salesforce, Oracle, Qualcomm, and Adobe, along with thousands of mid-size tech companies and funded startups. Enterprise software, semiconductor, and cloud infrastructure firms consistently file among the highest volumes of H-1B petitions for software engineers, full-stack developers, and related technical roles each year.
Which visa types are most common for developer roles in California?
The H-1B is the most common visa for developer roles in California, as software engineering and related positions typically qualify as specialty occupations requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field. L-1B visas are also used for developers transferring within multinational companies. Graduates on F-1 OPT, including the 24-month STEM OPT extension, frequently work in California developer roles while pursuing H-1B sponsorship.
Which cities in California have the most developer sponsorship jobs?
The San Francisco Bay Area, including San Jose, Sunnyvale, Mountain View, and Palo Alto, accounts for the largest share of developer sponsorship activity in California. Los Angeles has grown significantly, driven by tech, entertainment technology, and aerospace software firms. San Diego is notable for biotech software and defense tech roles, while Sacramento has emerging opportunities in government and public sector technology.
How to find developer visa sponsorship jobs in California?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically to roles where employers have a documented history of visa sponsorship, so you can search developer openings in California without sorting through positions that won't support an application. You can filter by location, role type, and visa category to focus on companies actively hiring sponsored developers in cities like San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Diego.
Are there state-specific considerations for developer visa sponsorship in California?
California's prevailing wage requirements under the H-1B program reflect the state's high cost of living, meaning employers must certify wages that meet Department of Labor standards for each specific location and job title. California also has strong worker protection laws that intersect with H-1B employment terms. University programs at UC Berkeley, UCLA, UC San Diego, and Stanford feed significant international developer talent into the state's sponsorship pipeline each year.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored developer jobs in California?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
