Which companies in California sponsor visas for devops managers?
Large tech employers in California with consistent H-1B visa sponsorship histories for devops and infrastructure roles include Google, Apple, Meta, Salesforce, Cisco, and Intel. Mid-size SaaS and cloud companies headquartered in the Bay Area and Los Angeles also file regularly. Sponsorship patterns vary by company size and hiring cycle, so reviewing LCA disclosure data from the Department of Labor gives the clearest picture of which employers are actively filing.
What visa types are most common for devops manager roles in California?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for devops managers in California, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, information systems, or a related field and qualifies as a specialty occupation. Candidates already holding L-1A status through an intracompany transfer may also transition into devops manager roles. O-1A is less common but possible for candidates with documented technical achievements or industry recognition.
Which cities in California have the most devops manager sponsorship jobs?
The San Francisco Bay Area, including San Jose, Mountain View, Sunnyvale, and San Francisco itself, concentrates the highest volume of devops manager sponsorship roles due to the density of enterprise tech and cloud companies headquartered there. Los Angeles has a growing tech sector with infrastructure hiring at media tech and e-commerce companies. San Diego also sees demand, particularly from defense tech, biotech, and cybersecurity employers operating in the region.
How to find devops manager visa sponsorship jobs in California?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search devops manager roles in California without sorting through positions that don't sponsor. The platform aggregates openings from employers with active sponsorship programs, which is particularly useful in California where tech hiring volume is high but not every posting includes sponsorship. Filtering by state and role on Migrate Mate saves significant time compared to unfiltered job searches.
Are there any California-specific considerations for devops manager visa sponsorship?
California's prevailing wage requirements under the H-1B program are among the highest in the country, reflecting the state's elevated cost of living, particularly in the Bay Area. Employers must certify on the Labor Condition Application that the offered wage meets or exceeds the prevailing wage for the role and location. For devops managers, this means Bay Area roles carry higher wage floor obligations than the same title in smaller California metros, which can affect which employers actively pursue sponsorship.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored devops manager jobs in California?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
