Our Team
The Ads Platform Engineering creates the ecosystem that spans across the “Pitch to Pay” process. It goes all the way from enabling our sales teams (and other DSPs, resellers) to engage advertisers to run their campaigns on Netflix, and cuts across inventory and order management, campaign execution, ad serving, audience onboarding, targeting and delivery, measurement, reporting and finance.
Our team is new, yet we have enormous ambitions of building highly performant advertising systems and delivering high impact to our business by monetizing our incredible slate of content. As one of the newest entrants in the rapidly growing Connected TV advertising space, we seek to build unique value propositions that help us differentiate from the competition and become a market leader in record time.
We are looking for highly motivated engineers working in the advertising space who are excited to join us on this journey.
The Ads Reporting Engineering team’s mission is to provide high quality reports and metrics that demonstrate Netflix’s value as a premium advertising platform.
Skills & experience we’re seeking:
- Build and scale advertiser-grade reporting applications that allow internal teams and, over time, external advertisers to explore, filter, schedule, and download Ads performance data.
- Proven experience working on a fullstack engineering team, effectively bridging UI and backend development, including defining and managing API contracts between them and leading an end-to-end fullstack project.
- Experience building scalable backend systems in Java, Kotlin, or similar JVM languages.
- Proficiency in modern UI frameworks (React preferred), TypeScript/JavaScript, and Node.js.
- Product mindset that is deeply empathetic to user needs, strategic in orientation, and driven by outcomes.
- Ads domain experience: broad knowledge of ad tech and advertising landscape, programmatic advertising, and digital marketing trends.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Nice to haves:
- Expertise in owning and optimizing the Ads Druid analytics layer, powering low-latency, high-concurrency OLAP workloads that back all reporting, dashboards, and programmatic data access.
- Familiarity with legal compliance and changing landscape of ads regulations around the world.
- Experience working in the CTV space and knowledge of its unique constraints.

Which companies sponsor visas for full stack engineers in California?
California's largest H-1B sponsors for full stack and software engineering roles include Google, Apple, Meta, Salesforce, Adobe, Oracle, and Airbnb, along with mid-size tech companies and funded startups across the Bay Area and Los Angeles. Many of these companies have established immigration programs and regularly file H-1B petitions for engineers across their product and platform teams.
Which visa types are most common for full stack engineer roles in California?
The H-1B is the most common visa for full stack engineers in California, as software development roles consistently qualify as specialty occupations requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field. Australian citizens may qualify for the E-3 visa. Canadian and Mexican nationals can explore the TN visa. Those with extraordinary ability may be eligible for the O-1 visa.
Which cities in California have the most full stack engineer sponsorship jobs?
The San Francisco Bay Area, including San Jose, Mountain View, and Sunnyvale, accounts for the largest concentration of full stack engineer sponsorship positions in California. Los Angeles has a growing tech sector with companies like Snap, Riot Games, and numerous startups. San Diego also has notable opportunities, particularly in biotech-adjacent software and defense tech companies.
How to find full stack engineer visa sponsorship jobs in California?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to find full stack engineer roles in California without sifting through postings that don't offer sponsorship. You can search by location and role type to surface positions at companies actively filing H-1B and other work visa petitions for engineers in California's tech hubs.
Are there any California-specific considerations for full stack engineers seeking visa sponsorship?
California's prevailing wage requirements under H-1B rules are among the highest in the country due to the state's elevated cost of living and competitive tech market, meaning employers must pay at least the Department of Labor's prevailing wage for the role and location. California is also a major source of OPT-to-H-1B pipelines, with universities like UC Berkeley, UCLA, and Stanford producing significant numbers of international engineering graduates annually.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored full stack engineer jobs in California?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
