Which companies sponsor visas for full stack engineers in Washington?
Microsoft, Amazon, and Salesforce are among the largest H-1B sponsors for full stack engineers in Washington. Beyond the major players, companies like Zillow, Expedia, Tableau, and a range of Seattle-area SaaS startups consistently file Labor Condition Applications for full stack roles. Washington's dense tech employer base means sponsorship is more common here than in most other states.
Which visa types are most common for full stack engineer roles in Washington?
The H-1B is the most common visa for full stack engineers in Washington, given the role's classification as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field. L-1B transfers are also used when engineers move within a multinational company. Australians may qualify for the E-3, and Canadian or Mexican nationals may be eligible for TN status under USMCA.
Which cities in Washington have the most full stack engineer sponsorship jobs?
Seattle has the highest concentration of full stack engineer sponsorship jobs in Washington, followed closely by Bellevue and Redmond, where Microsoft's headquarters drives significant hiring volume. Kirkland and Bothell also have active tech hiring communities. Outside the Puget Sound metro, Spokane has a smaller but growing tech sector with some sponsoring employers, though most sponsorship activity remains concentrated on the Eastside.
How to find full stack engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Washington?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates looking for visa sponsorship roles, including full stack engineer positions in Washington. You can filter by state and role to see employers actively hiring and sponsoring. Because Washington has a high density of H-1B-filing tech companies, the volume of relevant listings is among the highest of any U.S. state on the platform.
Are there state-specific considerations for full stack engineers seeking visa sponsorship in Washington?
Washington has no state income tax, which is relevant context when evaluating offers, though prevailing wage requirements for H-1B petitions are set by the Department of Labor based on the specific role and metro area, not state tax rules. The Seattle-Bellevue metro is designated a high-cost area, so DOL prevailing wages for full stack engineers here are among the highest wage levels in any U.S. metro. Employers must certify they are meeting those thresholds when filing an LCA.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored full stack engineer jobs in Washington?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
