Tips for Finding H-2B Sponsorship Jobs in Colorado
Target ski resort employers early in the season
Colorado's major ski resorts, including those in Summit County and the Roaring Fork Valley, file H-2B petitions months before winter season openings. Reaching out to resort HR departments in late summer gives you the best chance of being considered before cap slots fill.
Look beyond resorts to hospitality support businesses
Hotels, lodges, and food service operations in mountain corridors sponsor H-2B workers to support seasonal surges. Many smaller employers in towns like Breckenridge and Telluride hire H-2B workers but post openings only through industry-specific channels rather than general job boards.
Search Migrate Mate for Colorado H-2B listings
Migrate Mate filters jobs by visa type and state, making it straightforward to find Colorado employers actively sponsoring H-2B workers. Browsing by industry lets you identify which sectors have current openings without sorting through roles that don't offer sponsorship.
Check DOL OFLC disclosure data to identify repeat sponsors
The Department of Labor publishes H-2B labor certification data showing which Colorado employers have filed petitions historically. Employers with multiple prior filings are more likely to sponsor again, giving you a targeted list of companies worth approaching directly.
Understand Colorado's two peak hiring windows
Colorado has distinct winter ski and summer outdoor recreation seasons, meaning H-2B demand spikes twice a year. Landscaping and outdoor event employers typically file for summer positions, while resort and hospitality employers file for winter. Timing your search to each cycle improves your chances significantly.
Contact employers before the H-2B cap is reached
H-2B visas are subject to a national annual cap, and Colorado employers filing under the regular cap must act early. If you identify a Colorado employer interested in sponsoring you, prompt communication matters, as delays can push a filing past available cap numbers for that period.

Which industries in Colorado sponsor the most H-2B visas?
Ski resorts and mountain hospitality businesses sponsor the largest share of H-2B visa workers in Colorado, followed by landscaping and groundskeeping companies, amusement parks, and food service operations. These industries rely on temporary nonagricultural workers to fill seasonal demand that their local workforce cannot consistently meet during peak periods.
Which cities in Colorado have the most H-2B sponsorship jobs?
Mountain resort towns generate the highest concentration of H-2B sponsorship activity in Colorado. Aspen, Vail, Breckenridge, Steamboat Springs, and Telluride are consistent sources of seasonal H-2B positions. Along the Front Range, Colorado Springs and the Denver metro area also have H-2B employers in landscaping, hospitality, and outdoor recreation support roles.
What types of roles typically qualify for H-2B sponsorship in Colorado?
H-2B roles in Colorado are seasonal and nonagricultural. Common qualifying positions include ski lift operators, resort housekeeping staff, food and beverage workers, groundskeepers, landscaping crew members, amusement ride operators, and hotel front desk staff. The role must be tied to a temporary or seasonal need that the employer can document as recurring and time-limited.
How do I find H-2B jobs in Colorado that offer visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lets you search for H-2B sponsorship jobs filtered specifically by state and visa type, which removes the guesswork of identifying which Colorado employers actually sponsor. You can also review DOL labor certification disclosure data to identify Colorado employers with a history of H-2B filings, then approach those companies directly during their pre-season hiring windows.
What is the prevailing wage for H-2B jobs in Colorado?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
