Which hospitality companies sponsor H-2B visas in Colorado?
Vail Resorts is among the most active H-2B sponsors in Colorado, filing petitions for properties including Vail Mountain, Breckenridge Ski Resort, and Keystone. Steamboat Ski Resort and Winter Park Resort also have a history of H-2B sponsorship. Outside ski operations, hotel groups and summer resort operators in Estes Park and Durango regularly file H-2B petitions to fill seasonal housekeeping, food service, and front-of-house roles.
Which cities in Colorado have the most hospitality H-2B sponsorship jobs?
Vail, Breckenridge, and Steamboat Springs account for the majority of H-2B hospitality sponsorship in Colorado, driven by large ski resort operations that require significant seasonal staffing. Estes Park sees strong summer demand tied to Rocky Mountain National Park visitation. Durango and Telluride also generate H-2B filings from boutique resort and lodge operators catering to both ski-season and summer tourism.
What types of hospitality roles typically qualify for H-2B sponsorship in Colorado?
H-2B sponsorship in Colorado hospitality most commonly covers housekeeping attendants, lift operators, food and beverage servers, ski rental technicians, dishwashers, and front desk agents. These roles qualify because they are temporary and seasonal, tied to discrete peak periods like ski season (November through April) or summer tourism (June through August). The position must be non-agricultural and the employer must demonstrate that qualified U.S. workers are not available to fill it.
How do I find hospitality H-2B sponsorship jobs in Colorado?
Migrate Mate lists H-2B hospitality jobs in Colorado, including openings at ski resorts, mountain lodges, and summer tourism operations. You can filter specifically by visa type and state to see which Colorado employers are actively sponsoring H-2B workers. Because H-2B positions are tied to seasonal windows, checking Migrate Mate early, well before the winter or summer peak season, gives you the best chance of finding open roles before petitions are filed.
Are there any Colorado-specific considerations for H-2B hospitality sponsorship?
Colorado's H-2B hospitality market is heavily seasonal and calendar-driven. Ski resort employers typically file H-2B petitions for start dates around November or December, hitting the January 1 cap registration window. Summer resort operators target the April 1 window for June start dates. Both windows are subject to the federal H-2B numerical cap, which has been reached in recent years, so employers and workers need to plan well in advance. Colorado altitude and weather conditions are also factored into job descriptions for outdoor-facing roles.
What is the prevailing wage for H-2B hospitality jobs in Colorado?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
