Which hospitality companies sponsor H-2B visas in Oregon?
Oregon's H-2B visa hospitality sponsors tend to be destination resorts, ski area operators, coastal retreat properties, and large conference center hotels that face predictable seasonal staffing gaps. Properties in Bend, the Columbia River Gorge, and the southern Oregon coast have established H-2B filing histories. The DOL's OFLC disclosure data lists certified Labor Condition Applications by employer name, so you can verify which specific Oregon hospitality businesses have sponsored H-2B workers in recent seasons.
Which cities in Oregon have the most hospitality H-2B sponsorship jobs?
Bend and central Oregon see strong H-2B activity tied to ski season at Mt. Bachelor and summer resort traffic at Sunriver. The Columbia River Gorge corridor, including Hood River, draws petitions from outdoor recreation lodges. Coastal communities like Cannon Beach, Seaside, and Gold Beach have summer-driven demand. Portland's convention hotel sector also generates H-2B filings for housekeeping and banquet roles during peak conference periods.
What types of hospitality roles typically qualify for H-2B sponsorship?
H-2B sponsorship in hospitality covers roles that are temporary, seasonal, or tied to a one-time peak demand period. Qualifying positions commonly include housekeepers, room attendants, front desk agents, food and beverage servers, dishwashers, bellhops, and groundskeepers. The employer must demonstrate that the need is genuinely temporary and that qualified U.S. workers are unavailable for those positions. Managerial or executive roles rarely appear in H-2B petitions, which are designed for non-agricultural, non-specialty-occupation work.
How do I find hospitality H-2B sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate surfaces verified H-2B employer filing data filtered specifically for hospitality roles in Oregon, so you can identify which resorts, hotels, and lodges have active or recent sponsorship history without sifting through raw government disclosure files. Search by location to focus on high-activity areas like Bend or the coast, then filter by role type to match your experience. Migrate Mate's listings show only employers with documented H-2B filing history, which saves time compared to speculative applications.
Are there any Oregon-specific considerations for H-2B hospitality sponsorship?
Oregon's hospitality H-2B demand is strongly seasonal, peaking in summer along the coast and in fall and winter at mountain resort areas. Employers must file petitions well ahead of their season start date, and the national H-2B cap means early filing matters. Oregon also has state prevailing wage requirements that interact with DOL wage rules, so employers must ensure offered wages meet both thresholds. Workers should confirm that the petition covers the exact start and end dates of the seasonal need.
What is the prevailing wage for H-2B hospitality jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
