Tips for Finding H-2B Sponsorship Jobs in Oregon
Verify your O*NET occupation code first
Before applying anywhere, look up your target role on O*NET to confirm it carries a temporary, non-agricultural classification. Oregon employers filing H-2B petitions must use the correct SOC code on the LCA, and a mismatch can delay or void your petition.
Target coastal seafood and resort employers early
Oregon's Dungeness crab and seafood processing operations along the coast, plus ski and resort employers near Bend, file H-2B petitions months before their season opens. Reach out to these employers by October for summer slots and August for winter seasons.
Check the annual H-2B cap timing before you apply
The H-2B program has a statutory cap of 66,000 visas per fiscal year, split between two half-year periods. Oregon's seasonal industries compete for the same national pool, so confirm the cap has not been reached with USCIS before an employer starts your petition.
Use Migrate Mate to find verified H-2B sponsors
Search Migrate Mate's job board to identify Oregon employers with confirmed H-2B LCA filing history through DOL. This cuts out the guesswork of cold-contacting businesses that have never sponsored, letting you focus on companies with a documented track record in Oregon.
Ask employers about their OFLC Wage Search compliance
Oregon H-2B employers must pay the prevailing wage determined by the OFLC Wage Search tool for your specific occupation and county. Before accepting an offer, confirm the wage in your offer letter matches the certified LCA wage to avoid compliance problems after arrival.
Prepare a single-season work history document
Oregon H-2B employers sponsoring returning workers for landscaping, hospitality, or amusement park roles often prioritize applicants with documented prior seasonal experience. Compile a one-page work history showing past seasonal start and end dates, employer names, and job duties before you contact recruiters.

Which industries in Oregon sponsor the most H-2B visas?
Seafood processing on the Oregon coast, ski and resort hospitality near Bend and Mount Hood, landscaping and groundskeeping across the Willamette Valley, and amusement and recreation operations near Portland account for the majority of H-2B filings in Oregon. These industries share a common need for temporary, seasonal workers that cannot be filled by the local labor market alone.
Which cities in Oregon have the most H-2B sponsorship jobs?
Astoria, Newport, and Coos Bay generate significant H-2B activity through seafood processing. Bend and Government Camp see demand from resort and ski operations. Portland's metro area hosts landscaping companies and amusement park employers. Smaller agricultural towns in the Willamette Valley occasionally file H-2B petitions for non-agricultural packing and processing roles.
What types of roles typically qualify for H-2B sponsorship in Oregon?
Roles that qualify are temporary, non-agricultural, and tied to a seasonal or peak-load need. In Oregon, this includes seafood processors, resort housekeeping and food service staff, groundskeepers, theme park ride operators, and forestry support workers. The position must be classified under a qualifying SOC code, and the employer must demonstrate through DOL that no qualified U.S. workers are available.
How do I find H-2B jobs in Oregon that offer visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate surfaces Oregon employers with verified H-2B LCA filing history, so you can apply directly to businesses that have already committed to the sponsorship process. You can also review DOL's public H-2B disclosure data to identify which Oregon employers have filed in recent seasons and contact their HR departments before peak hiring windows open.
What is the prevailing wage for H-2B jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
