INTRODUCTION
Success in this role is measured by accurate and efficient device resolution, complete documentation, sound technical judgment, and effective partnership with Quality Assurance on replacement and regulatory review. Specialists use approved troubleshooting protocols as a framework rather than a rigid script, adapting support to the patient's device and issue while avoiding commitments outside Altivera's control. Therapy or care-plan questions are handed to Therapy Support, and potential safety, adverse-event, or regulatory concerns are escalated promptly to Quality Assurance.
Core Competencies
- Technical Troubleshooting — Diagnoses device connectivity, pairing, setup, and error-code issues methodically and guides non-technical patients through resolution step by step.
- Quality & Compliance Orientation — Understands the relationship between accurate device documentation, replacement review, and FDA quality requirements and partners appropriately with Quality Assurance.
- Patient & Customer Focus — Provides responsive, clear, and professional support that builds trust with patients, clinics, coworkers, and internal partners.
- Documentation Accuracy — Captures device issue types, technical details, troubleshooting activity, and outcomes completely and accurately to support patient records and quality reporting.
- Critical Thinking & Decision-Making — Identifies the underlying device issue, evaluates available resources and risk, and selects the appropriate resolution or escalation path.
- Collaboration & Handoffs — Coordinates effectively with Therapy Support, Quality Assurance, and other internal teams when a concern moves outside technical-support scope.
- Adaptability — Responds effectively to changing products, workflows, priorities, and patient needs while maintaining quality and compliance.
- Prioritization & Time Management — Balances inbound and outbound support activity, documentation, replacement coordination, and follow-up while meeting productivity expectations.

Which companies sponsor visas for product support engineers in Colorado?
Several Colorado-based and regionally headquartered tech companies have H-1B sponsorship histories for product support engineer roles, including Palantir Technologies in Denver, Zayo Group, and Arrow Electronics. Large national employers with significant Colorado offices, such as Oracle and IBM, also sponsor this role type. Sponsorship activity tends to concentrate in Denver and Boulder, where engineering headcount is highest.
Which visa types are most common for product support engineer roles in Colorado?
The H-1B is the most common visa for product support engineers in Colorado, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify under the TN visa in the Computer Systems Analyst category. Candidates already holding OPT or STEM OPT can often begin work before the employer completes H-1B sponsorship.
Which cities in Colorado have the most product support engineer sponsorship jobs?
Denver accounts for the largest share of product support engineer sponsorship jobs in Colorado, driven by its concentration of enterprise software, cloud infrastructure, and fintech companies. Boulder is a secondary hub with active hiring from SaaS startups and research-adjacent technology firms. Colorado Springs sees demand primarily from defense contractors and cybersecurity companies, which occasionally sponsor product support engineers with relevant technical clearance backgrounds.
How to find product support engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Colorado?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse product support engineer roles in Colorado without manually vetting each employer. The platform aggregates openings across Denver, Boulder, and Colorado Springs from companies with documented sponsorship histories. Filtering by role type and state on Migrate Mate helps international candidates focus their applications on employers already prepared to file petitions.
Are there state-specific factors that affect visa sponsorship for product support engineers in Colorado?
Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act requires employers to disclose compensation ranges in job postings, which gives international candidates useful visibility into whether an offered salary meets the H-1B prevailing wage requirement for the Denver-Aurora or Boulder metropolitan statistical areas without needing to request that information separately. Colorado's university pipeline, particularly from CU Boulder and CSU, also means local employers are accustomed to hiring on OPT, which can ease the path toward full H-1B sponsorship.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored product support engineer jobs in Colorado?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
