Which companies sponsor visas for project management specialists in Colorado?
Aerospace and defense contractors are among the most active sponsors in Colorado, including Lockheed Martin, Raytheon Technologies, Northrop Grumman, and SAIC, which maintain large operations along the Front Range. Federal IT contractors and consulting firms supporting Denver's government agencies also file sponsorships regularly. Technology companies in Boulder and the Denver metro, particularly in software and cloud infrastructure, round out the major sponsoring employers for this role.
Which visa types are most common for project management specialist roles in Colorado?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for project management specialists in Colorado, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as engineering, business, or information systems. Australian citizens may qualify for the E-3 visa, which follows a similar process without a lottery. Candidates already holding L-1 status through a multinational employer transfer are also well-positioned for these roles.
Which cities in Colorado have the most project management specialist sponsorship jobs?
Denver and the broader Front Range corridor account for the largest concentration of sponsorship opportunities, driven by federal agencies, contractors, and enterprise technology firms headquartered there. Colorado Springs is a secondary hub with significant defense and military-adjacent employer activity. Boulder attracts sponsorships from technology startups and research-adjacent companies. Aurora and Englewood also appear frequently in filings tied to aerospace and healthcare operations.
How to find project management specialist visa sponsorship jobs in Colorado?
Migrate Mate aggregates visa sponsorship jobs specifically filtered by role and state, making it straightforward to browse project management specialist openings in Colorado without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. The platform focuses exclusively on roles where employers have a documented history of sponsoring work visas, which is particularly useful in Colorado given the mix of defense contractors, federal IT firms, and tech employers actively hiring for this specialty.
Are there any Colorado-specific considerations for project management specialists seeking visa sponsorship?
Colorado's high concentration of defense and aerospace employers means many project management specialist roles require security clearances, which can complicate or delay sponsorship since clearances are generally not accessible to non-U.S. persons. Candidates targeting these employers should prioritize openings that do not list clearance as a requirement. Colorado's strong university pipeline through CU Boulder, Colorado State, and the University of Denver also means OPT-eligible candidates are well-represented in the applicant pool for these roles.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project management specialist jobs in Colorado?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
