Which companies sponsor visas for cloud data engineers in Delaware?
Delaware's largest visa sponsors for cloud data engineers tend to be financial services firms and life sciences companies. JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, and Barclays maintain significant technology operations in Wilmington, while DuPont and Incyte sponsor engineering roles tied to data infrastructure and cloud migration projects. Consulting firms with Delaware delivery centers, including Deloitte and Accenture, also regularly file H-1B petitions for cloud data engineering positions.
Which visa types are most common for cloud data engineer roles in Delaware?
The H-1B is the most common visa for cloud data engineers in Delaware, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field. Candidates already holding OPT or STEM OPT work authorization can begin roles immediately while employers prepare H-1B filings. L-1B visas appear occasionally when multinational firms transfer engineers with specialized cloud platform knowledge into their Delaware offices.
How to find cloud data engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Delaware?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship status, making it straightforward to identify Delaware employers actively hiring cloud data engineers who need work authorization support. Rather than sorting through listings where sponsorship availability is ambiguous, you can search directly for cloud data engineer roles in Delaware on Migrate Mate and see which companies have a documented history of sponsoring international candidates in this field.
Which cities in Delaware have the most cloud data engineer sponsorship jobs?
Wilmington accounts for the large majority of cloud data engineering activity in Delaware, driven by its concentration of financial institutions, corporate legal headquarters, and regional technology offices. Newark, home to the University of Delaware, sees some hiring activity tied to research computing and university-adjacent technology employers. Dover has a smaller but growing public sector technology presence, though private-sector cloud data engineering sponsorship remains centered in Wilmington.
Are there state-specific considerations for cloud data engineers pursuing sponsorship in Delaware?
Delaware's employer base skews heavily toward financial services and life sciences, so cloud data engineers with experience on platforms like Snowflake, AWS, or Azure in regulated-industry contexts tend to be a stronger fit for local openings. Because many Delaware companies are incorporated there but headquartered elsewhere, some positions listed with Delaware addresses may involve remote or hybrid work tied to offices in Philadelphia or New York, which can affect prevailing wage determinations on the Labor Condition Application.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored cloud data engineer jobs in Delaware?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
