The Delaware Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) seeks to increase the number of applicants for clinical nursing positions by offering a recruitment incentive to eligible Advanced Practice Nurse, Nurse Consultant, Nursing Supervisor, Compliance Nurse, Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, and Certified Nursing Assistant candidates in accordance with the DHSS Recruitment and Referral Incentive Program.
The program provides incentives as follows:
Recruitment incentives will be paid in quarterly installments over the first year of hire and will begin after the first quarter of employment. New employees accepting this recruitment bonus must commit to two consecutive years of employment with DHSS. You must be a new employee to the state to be eligible for this incentive.
Referral bonuses of $1,000 are available to current DHSS employees who refer new hires to the state in the following classifications: Advanced Practice Nurse, Nurse Consultant, Nursing Supervisor, Compliance Nurse, Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, and Certified Nursing Assistant. Referral bonuses of $1,000 will be paid in quarterly installments over the first year of hire of the referred applicant.
NOTE: This program is administered by the Department of Health and Social Services. The program may be terminated by the State at any time.
SUMMARY STATEMENT
The Registered Nurse Assessment Coordinator will complete all tasks and responsibilities required by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid for funded health care facilities. The applicant will be responsible for working with MDS, coding, and with person-centered care plans. Position utilizes excellent communication skills, teamwork, and review of electronic health record documentation. Therapeutic interviewing, analysis planning and coordination of process are essential in this challenging position.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION
Applicants who do not possess the preferred qualification will still be eligible to compete for this position if job requirements are met.
- Experience maintaining patient Minimum Data Set (MDS) records.

- Participates in and make recommendations regarding quality assurance activities.

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Registered Nurse III
Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:
- At least two years' experience as a Registered Nurse OR a Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing and at least one year experience as a Registered Nurse OR a Master's degree or higher in Nursing.
- Possession of a Delaware Registered Nurse license OR multi-state compact license.

Additionally, all new hires are required to complete a 2-Step TB/PPD test, which will be administered on their first day at the facility.
This position is a classification organized under an exclusive bargaining representative (labor organization) that has been elected by employees as their representative for collective bargaining and other applicable terms and conditions of employment, in accordance with Title 29, Chapter 59 and Title 19, Chapter 13 and 16. This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement based on its individual terms.
The selected candidate must follow the federal conflict-of-interest requirements under 45 CFR 1321 for all duties related to the Older Americans Act Title III programs. The candidate will be required to complete a Conflict-of-Interest Form to be provided at interview, disclose any actual or potential conflicts, and take part in annual reviews before beginning any Older Americans Act work.
