Which companies sponsor visas for engineering program managers in Florida?
Florida's largest visa sponsors for engineering program managers include Lockheed Martin, Raytheon Technologies, Northrop Grumman, Siemens, and L3Harris Technologies, all with significant operations in Central Florida and the Space Coast. Defense contractors dominate sponsorship activity in the state, though technology companies expanding in Tampa and Miami, including Amazon Web Services and Microsoft, also regularly file H-1B petitions for these roles.
Which visa types are most common for engineering program manager roles in Florida?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for engineering program managers in Florida, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field, satisfying the specialty occupation standard. Candidates from Australia may pursue the E-3 visa. Those with extraordinary ability or multinational manager experience may qualify for O-1 or L-1 visas respectively, though these are less common for this role.
How to find engineering program manager visa sponsorship jobs in Florida?
Migrate Mate filters engineering program manager jobs in Florida specifically to employers with a documented history of visa sponsorship, saving you from applying to postings where sponsorship is unlikely. Given Florida's concentration of defense and aerospace employers on the Space Coast and in Orlando, filtering by those metro areas on Migrate Mate helps surface the highest-volume sponsors for this role.
Which cities in Florida have the most engineering program manager sponsorship jobs?
Orlando and the broader Space Coast corridor, including Melbourne and Cape Canaveral, account for the highest concentration of engineering program manager sponsorship activity in Florida, driven by aerospace and defense contractors tied to Kennedy Space Center. Tampa is the second most active market, with growth in defense tech and financial services infrastructure. Miami has a smaller but expanding footprint through technology and logistics companies.
Are there any Florida-specific considerations for engineering program manager visa sponsorship?
Many engineering program manager roles with Florida's defense contractors require security clearances, which are only available to U.S. citizens or certain permanent residents. This effectively limits visa sponsorship to programs and divisions that do not have cleared work requirements. Candidates should verify clearance requirements before applying, as uncleared engineering program manager positions at these same employers do still exist and are more accessible to visa holders.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored engineering program manager jobs in Florida?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
